Capila penicillatum, commonly known as the fringed dawnfly, [2] [3] is a species of hesperid butterfly found in India and Southeast Asia.
The butterfly occurs in India from Meghalaya (Khasi hills) eastwards to Canton, northern Vietnam and Hainan. [3] [4]
The type locality is the Khasi Hills. [1]
It is very rare. [4]
