The Caribbean Baseball Cup is a baseball tournament organized by Caribbean Baseball Confederation (COCABE), which is itself a division of WBSC Americas. It serves as a qualifier for higher-level tournaments, such as the Central American and Caribbean Games.
The tournament has served as a testing ground for smaller federations such as the Bahamas and Curaçao, whose players often represent larger national teams such as Great Britain and the Netherlands, respectively. [1]

The Bahamas, officially the Commonwealth of The Bahamas, is an island country within the Lucayan Archipelago of the Atlantic Ocean. It contains 97% of the Lucayan Archipelago's land area and 88% of its population. The archipelagic country consists of more than 3,000 islands, cays, and islets in the Atlantic Ocean, and is located north of Cuba and northwest of the island of Hispaniola and the Turks and Caicos Islands, southeast of the U.S. state of Florida and east of the Florida Keys. The capital is Nassau on the island of New Providence. The Royal Bahamas Defence Force describes the Bahamas' territory as encompassing 470,000 km2 (180,000 sq mi) of ocean space.
The Caribbean Series is an annual club tournament contested by professional baseball teams in Latin America. It is organized by the Caribbean Professional Baseball Confederation. The series is normally played in February, after the various winter leagues have ended their national tournaments.
The Confederation of North, Central America and Caribbean Association Football, abbreviated as CONCACAF, is one of FIFA's six continental governing bodies for association football. Its 41 member associations represent countries and territories mainly in North America, including the Caribbean and Central America, and, for geopolitical reasons, 3 nations from the Guianas subregion of South America-Guyana, Suriname, and French Guiana. The CONCACAF's primary functions are to organize competitions for national teams and clubs, and to conduct the World Cup and Women's World Cup qualifying tournaments.
The Barbados national football team, nicknamed Bajan Tridents, is the national football team of Barbados, and is controlled by the Barbados Football Association. It has never qualified for a major international tournament. It came close to qualifying for the 2005 CONCACAF Gold Cup as it hosted the Caribbean Cup finals that acted as Gold Cup qualifiers, but finished fourth of the four teams. In 2001, it surprised many by making the semi-final round of the 2002 World Cup Qualifiers. In the first game of this round, they pulled off a shock 2–1 win over Costa Rica, but lost their five remaining games. In 2004, Barbados gained a shock 1–1 draw at home to Northern Ireland.

The Bahamas national football team is controlled by the Bahamas Football Association; it was founded in 1967 and joined FIFA in 1968. Bahamas has never qualified for the FIFA World Cup or the CONCACAF Gold Cup. They have been a part of CONCACAF since 1967.

The team competed against Israel, the Dominican Republic, Venezuela and Nicaragua in the 2023 World Baseball Classic in March 2023 in Miami, Florida.

The North American Football Union is a regional grouping under CONCACAF of national football organizations in the North American Zone. The NAFU has no organizational structure. The following is the qualification system and qualified athletes, countries and teams for the Baseball at the 2023 Central American and Caribbean Games competitions. As the host nation, El Salvador qualifies a team with 24 athletes automatically. The WBSC ranking determined the next four as of the December 31, 2022 release: Cuba, Dominican Republic, Mexico, and Venezuela. The top two non-qualified finishers of the Caribbean Baseball Cup, Bahamas 2022 (COCABE) will receive their quota automatically, which are Puerto Rico and Curaçao. The highest non-qualified finisher of the 2023 Centroamericano de Beisbol received the last slot, which is Nicaragua.
Andre Rodgers National Baseball Stadium is a baseball stadium in Nassau, Bahamas. Opening in 2022, it is the largest baseball-specific stadium in the country, and is built to international and Major League Baseball standards.
