The U-18 Asian Baseball Championship is an under-18 international baseball tournament sanctioned and created by the Baseball Federation of Asia (BFA). The tournament is prior to the 18U Baseball World Cup which is held every other year.

After the division of the Korean Peninsula into North Korea and South Korea in 1945 and the further destabilisation of the Korean War from 1950–53, baseball has become one of the most popular sports in South Korea. North Korea, under isolationist leadership, does not have the same level of investment in baseball as South Korea. There are 10 professional teams in South Korea's KBO League. Baseball season runs from March to October.

The 2021 Women's Baseball World Cup would have been the ninth edition of the WBSC Women's Baseball World Cup, the biennial international women's baseball world championship tournament. The competition was planned to be held in Tijuana, Mexico in late 2021, with dates to be announced. The competition was originally to be held in Monterrey, Mexico from 11 to 20 September 2020, and was initially rescheduled to be held in Tijuana from 1 to 9 March 2021, but was postponed both times due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The tournament was cancelled altogether in October 2021.

Mayu Ishikawa is a Japanese professional volleyball player. She's a member of the Japan Women's National Volleyball Team, as one of its outside hitters. She competed at the 2020 Summer Olympics and the 2024 Summer Olympics in Women's volleyball.

Masahiro Sekita is a Japanese male professional volleyball player from Tokyo. He currently plays in V.League Division 1 for JTEKT Stings and Japan men's national volleyball team. He used to be the captain of Japan U-21 national team in 2012 Asian Junior Men's Volleyball Championship and 2013 FIVB Volleyball Men's U21 World Championship.

Kento Miyaura is a Japanese male volleyball player from Kumamoto City, on the island of Kyushu. Currently, he plays in LNV Ligue A Masculine for Paris Volley. He used to be the captain of Japan U-19 team and Waseda University's club.

Masaki Oya is a Japanese male volleyball player. He plays for Japan men's national volleyball team and the Suntory Sunbirds in V.League 1, where he has served as captain since 2020–21 season. He was formerly the Japan U-23 national team's captain.

Kenta Takanashi is a Japanese male volleyball player. He plays in V.League Division 1 for Wolf Dogs Nagoya and Japan men's national volleyball team. He was the captain of Japan U-21 national team.

Tsubasa Hisahara is a male Japanese former Volleyball player who played for Panasonic Panthers in V.League Division 1. He used to be the captain of Japanese youth national team and was a part of Japan men's national volleyball team.

Shunichiro Sato is a Japanese male volleyball player. He currently plays in Tokai University and a member of Japan men's national volleyball team. He used to be part of Japan U21 & U19 national team.
