The Baseball European Cup, formerly called the Confederation Cup and CEB Cup, is an annual baseball tournament, sanctioned and created by WBSC Europe. The tournament is the second-tier tournament for baseball leagues across Europe, alongside the first-tier European Champions Cup, third-tier Federation Cup, and fourth-tier Federation Cup Qualifiers, all of which operate with a promotion and relegation system for its federations. The inaugural season of the tournament was held in 2016 in Rouen, France, and Chartres, France. FC Barcelona won the last edition(2007) beating Heidenheim Heideköpfe 13-9. After that no tournament was held between 2008 and 2015 then in 2016 the tournament returned.

The International Baseball Federation (IBAF) is the former worldwide governing body of baseball. It has since been superseded by the World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC), and continues to exist as the WBSC's baseball division. Between 1944 and 1975, it was known by its Spanish-language name, as the Federación Internacional de Béisbol Amateur, or FIBA.

The World Baseball Softball Confederation Europe, known as WBSC Europe, was established on February 10, 2018, during a Congress of the Confederation of European Baseball and the European Softball Federation in Val d’Europe, France. the establishment of WBSC Europe followed the historic merger of the Confederation of European Baseball (CEB) and the European Softball Federation (ESF). As of September 2022, WBSC Europe counts 40 members for baseball and 39 for softball.

The 2018 Women's Softball World Championship was an international softball competition held in Chiba, Japan, from 2 August to 12 August. It was the 16th edition of the tournament, and the third edition to be sanctioned by the World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC).
