Carlo Silipo (born 10 September 1971 in Naples) is a retired water polo player from Italy, who represented his native country at three Summer Olympics: 1992, 1996 and 2004. After having won the gold medal in Barcelona, Spain, he won bronze with the men's national team at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta, United States. [1]
Brenda Villa is an American accomplished water polo player. She is the most decorated athlete in the world of women’s water polo. Villa was named Female Water Polo Player of the Decade for 2000-2009 by the FINA Aquatics World Magazine. She is one of four female players who competed in water polo at four Olympics; and one of two female athletes who won four Olympic medals in water polo. She is a leading goalscorer in Olympic water polo history, with 31 goals. In 2018, she was inducted into the International Swimming Hall of Fame and the USA Water Polo Hall of Fame.

István Szívós Sr. was a Hungarian water polo player. He was part of the Hungarian teams that won gold medals at the 1952 and 1956 Olympics and placed second in 1948. At the 1956 Olympics he also took part in the 200 m breaststroke swimming competition, but failed to reach the final. In 1997 he was inducted into the International Swimming Hall of Fame, one year later than his son István Jr., who competed in water polo at the 1968–1980 Olympics. He was given the honour to carry the national flag of Hungary at the opening ceremony of the 1980 Summer Olympics in Moscow, becoming the 14th water polo player to be a flag bearer at the opening and closing ceremonies of the Olympics.
