The Ahnenerbe is a pub temporarily appearing among parallel worlds. [3] Once every ten years, an event called "The Carnival Moment" occurs, where tales from other dimensions and worlds cross paths, allowing characters from various tales to encounter each other. [3] During this particular Carnival Moment, a multitude of characters from Type-Moon works meet, mainly from Fate/stay night and Tsukihime . They are subjected to a series of situations and parody not seen in their respective works.

Development

The series was developed in order to celebrate the tenth anniversary of TYPE-MOON. [3] The third season included the 12-minute special anime "Fate/Prototype" OVA. [4]

Manga

Take-Moon was published by Comic Ichijinsha with two volumes published on June 25, 2004 and on August 9, 2006. [5] [6] A reprint of 1 volume was published on November 26, 2011 with print and kindle versions retailed. [7]

Anime

The series is produced by Lerche, directed by Seiji Kishi, written by Makoto Uezu and composed by Yasuharu Takanashi. The January issue of Ichijinsha's Monthly Comic Rex magazine announced that Take-Moon would receive an anime adaptation. [8]

It was released in seasons which each has four episodes. The first season was released on August 12, 2011, the second one on October 28, 2011, and the third one on December 31, 2011. An extra episode titled "Carnival Phantasm EX Season" was released together with the omnibus version of the Take-Moon manga on November 26, 2011. A Take Moon special edition was announced on October 10, 2011. [9]

The first season was released on Blu-Ray in Japan on August 14, 2011. [10] The second one was released on October 28, 2011. [11] A complete edition was announced on February 8, 2015 with a release on April 30, 2015. [12]

The opening theme song is "Super☆Affection" (すーぱー☆あふぇくしょん) by Minami Kuribayashi, Miyuki Hashimoto, Faylan, Aki Misato, Yozuca* and Rino, [13] and the ending theme song is "Fellows" by Masaaki Endoh. [14]

Tsukihime is a Japanese adult visual novel game created by Type-Moon, who first released it at the Winter Comiket in December 2000. In 2003, it was adapted into both an anime television series, Lunar Legend Tsukihime, animated by J.C.Staff, and a manga series, which was serialized between 2003 and 2010 in MediaWorks shōnen manga magazine Dengeki Daioh, with 10 volumes released.

Fate/stay night is a Japanese visual novel game developed by Type-Moon for Windows on January 30, 2004. Initially released as an adult game, a version titled Fate/stay night Réalta Nua, which replaced the sexual content with alternate scenes, added an extended ending scene to the Fate storyline, and featured voice actors from the 2006 anime series, was released on April 19, 2007, for the PlayStation 2. It was later ported to Windows in 2011, PlayStation Vita in 2012, and Android and iOS in 2015. A remastered version of Réalta Nua was released for Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam in 2024, marking the first time the game was made available outside Japan. The plot focuses on a young mage named Shirou Emiya who becomes a warrior in a battle between "Servants" known as the Holy Grail War. Shirou bonds with a heroine through each route and confronts different adversaries participating in the war. The author, Kinoko Nasu, summarised Fate/stay night as:

...the story about legendary heroes and "a boy meets a girl."... The main theme is "conquering oneself." There are three story lines in Fate, each has a different themes. The first one is the "oneself as an ideal." The second one is "struggling with oneself as an ideal." The third one is "the friction with real and ideal." This game is describing the growth of the main character Emiya Shirou. The first storyline shows his slanted mind, the next storyline shows his resolve, and the last storyline gives another resolution for him as a human. All three storylines are essentially equal, but they have different forms.

Type-Moon is a Japanese video game company, best known for their visual novels, co-founded by author Kinoko Nasu and illustrator Takashi Takeuchi. It is also known under the name Notes Co., Ltd. for its publishing and corporate operations, as it is the company official name, while Type-Moon is a brand name as a homage to the original doujin group. <i>To Heart 2</i> Video game

To Heart 2 is a Japanese romance visual novel developed by Leaf and published by Aquaplus. It was first released for the PlayStation 2 on December 28, 2004 as an all-ages title, and was followed by an adult version playable on Microsoft Windows and subsequent all-ages versions for the PlayStation Portable and PlayStation 3. This deviated from the release history of the game's predecessor, To Heart, which was originally released with adult content prior to receiving versions with such content removed. Weed, named after the English word for wild plant, leaves his birthplace to search for his father in the Ōu Mountains. Saber (<i>Fate/stay night</i>) Fictional character from the Fate series

Saber, whose real name is Artoria Pendragon, is a fictional character from the Japanese 2004 visual novel Fate/stay night by Type-Moon. Saber is a heroic warrior who is summoned by a teenager named Shirou Emiya to participate in a war between masters and servants who are fighting to accomplish their dreams using the mythical Holy Grail. Saber's relationship with the story's other characters depends on the player's decisions; she becomes a love interest to Shirou in the novel's first route and also serves as that route's servant protagonist, a supporting character in the second, and a villain called "Saber Alter" in the third route.

Takashi Takeuchi is a Japanese artist. He is notable as the co-founder of the visual novel, anime development and production enterprise Type-Moon, and for his illustrations on the visual novels, Tsukihime and Fate/stay night, which were adapted into an anime and manga series. He has frequently collaborated with fellow game designer Kinoko Nasu. In 2008, they contributed the special scenario to the Sega/Chunsoft Wii visual novel 428: Shibuya Scramble, which subsequently received a sequel anime titled Canaan. His real name is Tomotaka Takeuchi.

<i>One: Kagayaku Kisetsu e</i> 1998 Japanese adult visual novel

One: Kagayaku Kisetsu e is a Japanese adult visual novel, developed by Tactics, a brand of Nexton, released on May 29, 1998 playable on Windows PCs. The erotic content was later removed when the game was ported to the PlayStation. The story follows the life of Kōhei Orihara, a high school student who has fun spending time with several girls about his age, while at the same time he is gradually being drawn into a mystical alternate space known as the Eternal World.

Witch on the Holy Night is a Japanese visual novel developed and published by Type-Moon. It was first released for Windows on April 12, 2012 in Japan. An enhanced remastered version with voice acting and updated graphics was released by Aniplex worldwide for Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 on December 8, 2022, and was released for Windows via Steam on December 14, 2023. It is largely a kinetic novel: the user experiences a linear plotline with little variation or player choices. The game is a prequel to Tsukihime and explores the backstory of Shiki Tohno's master Aoko Aozaki.

<i>Sket Dance</i> Japanese manga series

Sket Dance is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Kenta Shinohara. The manga follows the adventures of the Sket-dan, a high school club whose goal it is to help the students and teachers of Kaimei High School with their problems, as they do whatever it takes to help make their campus a better place. The story is mainly told in the perspective of the Sket-dan's three members: Bossun, the leader of the group; Himeko, the "muscle" and the only female in the group; and Switch, the otaku and the "brains" of the group. English-language versions followed on 25 June 2017 in the United States and Canada, and a Korean version was released on 21 November 2017. An arcade version titled Fate/Grand Order Arcade was released by Sega in Japan on 26 July 2018.
