Door County is a county in the U.S. state of Wisconsin. As of the 2010 census, the population was 27,785. Its county seat is Sturgeon Bay.
Ahnapee is a town in Kewaunee County, Wisconsin, United States, on the Ahnapee River. The population was 940 as of the 2010 census. The unincorporated communities of Bruemmerville, Kodan, and Rankin are located in the town. The Ahnapee State Trail passes through the town of Ahnapee.
Algoma is a city in Kewaunee County in the U.S. state of Wisconsin. The population was 3,167 at the 2010 census. Algoma is part of the Green Bay Metropolitan Statistical Area.
The Green Bay and Western Railroad served central Wisconsin for almost 100 years before it was absorbed into the Wisconsin Central in 1993. For much of its history the railroad was also known as the Green Bay Route. At the end of 1970 it operated 255 miles of road on 322 miles of track; that year it reported 317 million ton-miles of revenue freight.

The Algoma School District is a school district serving the area around the city of Algoma in Kewaunee County, Wisconsin. It covers approximately 68 square miles in the northeastern-most section of the county.
State Trunk Highway 42 is a state highway in the U.S. state of Wisconsin. It runs for about 138 miles (222 km) north–south in northeast Wisconsin from Sheboygan to the ferry dock in Northport. Much of the highway is part of the Lake Michigan Circle Tour from the eastern junction with U.S. Highway 10 (US 10) in Manitowoc to its junction with WIS 57 in Sister Bay.
The Lexington and West Cambridge Railroad was a railroad company chartered in 1845 and opened in 1846, that operated in eastern Massachusetts, U.S.A. It and its successors provided passenger service until 1977 and freight service until 1980 or early 1981.
Chassell is an unincorporated community in Chassell Township of Houghton County in the Upper Peninsula of the U.S. state of Michigan. It is located on Pike Bay at the south end of Portage Lake 47°01′42″N88°31′30″W and is the largest community in the township.

Maplewood is an unincorporated community in Door County, in the town of Forestville, Wisconsin, United States. The nearest city to Maplewood is Sturgeon Bay. Maplewood is located along Wisconsin Highway 42 approximately 3 miles (5 km) south of its junction with Wisconsin Highway 57. A small county park in the center of Maplewood provides an eating area and restrooms for users of the Ahnapee State Trail.
The Sturgeon Bay Bridge is a historic bridge in Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin, United States. The bridge was built in 1929 and opened July 4, 1931, with a grand parade where it was officially dedicated as a Door County Veterans Memorial which plaques at either end still reads "To honor those who gave of themselves, to their country, in times of need" as a gift by the State of Wisconsin.
The bridge linked Maple and Michigan Streets traffic, and was part of the Wisconsin Highway 42/57 system.
The Kewaunee, Green Bay and Western Railroad, constructed with Lackawanna Trust and W. W. Cargill backing, was incorporated on May 19, 1890 for the purpose of moving cargo between the port cities of Green Bay and Kewaunee in Wisconsin. At first, cargo was transferred between freight cars and steamships manually, but before long carferries equipped with rails on their decks began transporting the railroad cars themselves across the lake between Kewaunee in Wisconsin and Frankfort and Ludington in Michigan.
Sturgeon Bay was a small lumbering community the U.S. state of Michigan, located in Bliss Township on the southern border of what is now Wilderness State Park in the northwest part of Emmet County. Almost nothing remains of Sturgeon Bay. It was located on the south shore of Sturgeon Bay, an indentation of Lake Michigan, just west of where Sturgeon Bay Trail and M-119 intersect. Intersection is Sturgeon Bay Trail and Lake Shore Drive. M-119 terminates approximately four miles to the south of this intersection at Cross Village. The Ahnapee State Trail is a multi-use trail along the Ahnapee River and the Kewaunee River in northeastern Wisconsin.
