Cedar Rapids Transit, stylized as CR Transit, is the primary provider of mass transportation in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Prior to 2008, the Cedar Rapids public transportation system was known as Environmental Alternative for a Greater Lifestyle (EAGL) from 1993 to 2008, and Easyrider prior to 1993. Twelve routes serve the city, with most radiating from the Ground Transportation Center in downtown Cedar Rapids, as well as two circulator routes. [1] In addition to providing transit service, Cedar Rapids Transit also provides ADA Paratransit service to passengers with qualifying disabilities. [2] The system runs Monday through Saturday. There is no service on Sundays, New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day. [3]
Cedar Rapids Transit operates 12 routes, 10 of which originate in downtown Cedar Rapids at the Ground Transportation Center. Additionally, there are two circulator routes that serve Marion and north Cedar Rapids/Hiawatha. [4] Connections to the 380 Express are available at the Ground Transportation Center and at Kirkwood Community College.

Bus tracking for Cedar Rapids Transit is available through Ride Systems, which shows all buses on a map with real-time location. The location of each bus is represented as an icon along with the bus number, and is color coded for different routes. Individual routes can also be selected to show the route path and stop locations. [7]
The Ground Transportation Center, located at 450 1st St SE, serves as the primary transfer point for Cedar Rapids Transit, with connections to the 380 Express as well. [8] The facility opened November 7, 1983 at a cost of $28 million, which included the $9.5 million public portion and $18.5 million office tower and condominiums atop the structure. The design of the structure by Cannon Design also included dedicated space for intercity buses, and was originally served by Burlington Trailways, Greyhound Lines, and Jefferson Lines, however no intercity buses stop here as of 2023. The Central New York Regional Transportation Authority, commonly referred to as Centro, is a New York State public benefit corporation and the operator of mass transit in Onondaga, Oswego, Cayuga, and Oneida counties in New York state. The CNYRTA was formed on August 1, 1970, along with similar agencies in Rochester, Albany, and Buffalo.
Hampton Roads Transit (HRT), incorporated on October 1, 1999, began through the voluntary merger of PENTRAN on the Virginia Peninsula and TRT in South Hampton Roads and currently serves over 22 million annual passengers within its 369-square-mile (960 km2) service area around Hampton Roads. The purpose of the HRT is to provide reliable and efficient transportation service and facilities to the Hampton Roads community. It was established on April 1, 1973, as a result of the acquisition of the Sacramento Transit Authority. In addition to operating over 81 bus routes with connecting bus service in the Sacramento area covering 438 square miles (1,134.4 km2), SacRT also operates a large light rail system, which ranks currently as the sixteenth busiest light rail system in the United States. Cambus is an American public transport bus system, primarily serving the University of Iowa campus in Iowa City, Iowa. The service is intended to provide transportation for students, faculty, and staff around the main campus, University of Iowa Research Park, residence halls, and commuter parking lots. Cambus is a zero-fare service open to the general public, and provides approximately 3,000,000 rides per year. It is one of three transit systems in the Iowa City area, the other two being Iowa City Transit and Coralville Transit, and Cambus shares several stops with them.
The Jule, formerly known as KeyLine Transit, is the operator of mass transit within the City of Dubuque, Iowa. The Jule offers transit bus routes throughout the city, trolley-replica transportation in Downtown Dubuque and the Port of Dubuque, and on-demand paratransit "MiniBus" service citywide. As of the 2011 rebranding, the transit system and city are now both named after Julien Dubuque. In FY 2010, the Jule recorded 371,000 rides.

The Lawrence Transit System is the municipal public transportation agency in Lawrence, Kansas. The Metropolitan Transit Authority of Black Hawk County, marketed as MET Transit, is the primary provider of mass transportation in the cities of Waterloo and Cedar Falls, Iowa. The agency was founded in 1972, after the private National City Lines, which had operated public transit under contract from the city, pulled out of providing fixed routes, which led to the city directly taking over this service.
Rapid City Rapid Ride is the provider of mass transportation in the City of Rapid City, Pennington County, South Dakota providing fixed route bus service since 1992. Five scheduled bus routes operate Monday through Saturday at 30 minutes intervals. Dial-A-Ride provides ADA paratransit service for qualified customers. City View Trolley is a replica trolley service.
Iowa City Transit is an American public transit system serving Iowa City, Iowa. The service provides several routes serving various areas of the city as well as University Heights, originating and terminating at the Iowa City Downtown Interchange. In addition, a loop route is provided for school students at the beginning and end of each school day. In addition to Iowa City Transit, Coralville Transit, the University of Iowa Cambus, and the 380 Express also provide transit service in the Iowa City area, and Iowa City Transit shares several bus stops with them.
Bis-Man Transit is the public transportation system in the neighboring cities of Bismarck, North Dakota and Mandan, North Dakota. The scheduled transit bus routes are branded as CAT and operated by the non-profit Bis-Man Transit Board. The Bismarck-Mandan fixed route system is a flag down system, which means a bus can be stopped anywhere along the route, as long as it is not in a no stop zone. Paratransit is provided for those who are unable to use the regular bus under the ADA.
The 380 Express is a commuter bus service between Cedar Rapids and Iowa City. As of 2021, the system provided 44,072 rides over 11,264 annual vehicle revenue hours with 4 buses. The service is operated by Windstar Lines, which is contracted by the East Central Iowa Council of Governments (ECICOG).
