Sioux City Transit, is the primary provider of mass transportation in Woodbury County, Iowa. Ten routes operate from Monday through Saturday. Via Route 9, a connection can also be made with the suburb of South Sioux City, Nebraska across the Missouri River. However, beginning January 3, 2009, Route 9 only operates Monday-Friday.

Martin Luther King Jr. Transportation Center

The MLK Transportation Center serves as the primary hub of Sioux City Transit, located at 505 Nebraska Street in downtown Sioux City. In addition to serving all 10 Sioux City Transit routes, the facility also serves the intercity bus carrier Jefferson Lines. The facility was constructed in February 2003 for $11.6 million. At the time, it served Greyhound Lines buses as well, but Greyhound eliminated Sioux City service in August 2004. The transportation center offers a spacious lobby for travelers to wait indoors for their buses, retail space, Sioux City Transit headquarters, 472 parking spaces, and skywalk accessibility to the Orpheum Theatre, Frances Building and access to all of the buildings in the skywalk system. Per capita statistics are based on the Sioux City urbanized area as reported in NTD data. Starting in 2011, 2010 census numbers replace the 2000 census numbers to calculate per capita statistics. Metro Transit, previously known as Metro Area Transit, is Omaha, Nebraska's local mass transportation provider. Metro currently operates around 135 buses throughout the Omaha–Council Bluffs metropolitan area, including Bellevue, Ralston, La Vista, and Papillion in Nebraska and Council Bluffs in Iowa. Operated by the Omaha Transit Authority, a governmental subdivision of the State of Nebraska, Metro's board consists of a five-member board appointed by the mayor and confirmed by the Omaha City Council and the Douglas County Commissioners. The agency receives funds from local, state, and federal sources. The city has equipped its buses with bicycle carriers and onboard Wifi. The service hours of the entire system are generally from about 4:30 am–1:00 am on weekdays, 5:00 am-midnight on Saturdays, and 6:00 am–9:30 pm on Sundays, with many routes operating a shorter span.

The core of the system is contained in The City Loop, which interconnects with every other service. In 2022, the system had a ridership of 941,400, or about 4,200 per weekday as of the third quarter of 2023.

Cedar Rapids Transit, stylized as CR Transit, is the primary provider of mass transportation in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Prior to 2008, the Cedar Rapids public transportation system was known as Environmental Alternative for a Greater Lifestyle (EAGL) from 1993 to 2008, and Easyrider prior to 1993. Twelve routes serve the city, with most radiating from the Ground Transportation Center in downtown Cedar Rapids, as well as two circulator routes. The Bismarck-Mandan fixed route system is a flag down system, which means a bus can be stopped anywhere along the route, as long as it is not in a no stop zone.
