Ch'iyar Qullu (Aymara ch'iyara black, qullu mountain, [3] "black mountain", also spelled Chiar Kkollu) is a volcanic centre in Bolivia. It is located in the Oruro Department, Ladislao Cabrera Province, Salinas de Garci Mendoza Municipality, northeast of Salinas de Garci Mendoza, near a maar named Jayu Quta ("salt lake"). [4]

It is a sill formed from primitive phyric alkali basalt that closely resembles ocean island basalt in composition and now appears as a hill. The rocks contain augite and olivine and the eruption site coincides with a local lineament [2] [5] and is of Miocene age, [6] with dates of 22.51±0.45 mya by Ar-Ar dating and 25.2±0.5 mya by K-Ar dating. [5] The Ch'iyar Qullu magmas are Central Andes intraplate magmas and originate from the upper mantle. [7]

Ch'iyar Jaqhi is a 4,937-metre-high (16,198 ft) mountain located in the Andes in Bolivia. It is situated in the Oruro Department, Sebastián Pagador Province, in the south of the Condo "C" Canton. It lies between the mountains Jatun Wila Qullu in the south-west and Wila Qullu in the north-east. One of the nearest mountains is Jach'a Jaqhi (Jachcha Jakke) north-east of it. The river Qullpa Jawira originates near Ch'iyar Jaqhi.

Ch'iyar Qullu is a 5,112-metre-high (16,772 ft) mountain in the Cordillera Real in the Bolivian Andes. It lies in the La Paz Department, Murillo Province, at the border of the La Paz Municipality and the Palca Municipality. Ch'iyar Qullu is situated south-west of the mountains Jathi Qullu and Q'asiri. It lies at the lake Jach'a Q'asiri, south-west of it.

Ch'iyar Qullu is a 4,778-metre-high (15,676 ft) mountain in the western extension of the Cordillera Real in the Andes of Bolivia. It is situated in the La Paz Department, Los Andes Province, Pucarani Municipality. Ch'iyar Qullu lies southwest of Tuni Lake, between the rivers Kunturiri in the north and Tuni in the south.

Taypi Qullu is situated south of the mountain Chullumpiri, south-west of Laram Pukara and north-west of Janq'u Qullu. The river Ch'iyar Qullu Jawira flows along its slopes and then to the south-west.

Warachi Qullu is a 5,029-metre-high (16,499 ft) mountain in the Andes of Bolivia. It is situated in the Potosí Department, Antonio Quijarro Province, in the north-east of the Uyuni Municipality. Warachi Qullu lies at the river Ch'iyar Juqhu Q'awa (Chiar Jokho Khaua) which later is named Juqhu Jawira (Jokho Jahuiri), Jalsullani and Chiqapa (Chicapa). Its waters flow to Qullpa Jawira in the north-east.

Janq'u Qullu is a mountain in the Andes of Bolivia, about 5,120 metres (16,798 ft) high. It is situated in the Potosí Department, Antonio Quijarro Province, in the east of the Uyuni Municipality. Janq'u Qullu lies south of the mountain Warachi Qullu. The river Ch'iyar Juqhu Q'awa (Chiar Jokho Khaua) which later is named Juqhu Jawira (Jokho Jahuiri), Jalsullani and Chiqapa (Chicapa) originates north of the mountain. Its waters flow to Qullpa Jawira in the northeast.

Ch'iyar Qullu is situated near the river Chuqi Quta, south-west of the lake Ch'uxña Quta and north-west of the village of Chuqi Quta (Choquecota, Choquekhota).

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Altiplano–Puna volcanic complex</span>

The Altiplano–Puna volcanic complex, also known as APVC, is a complex of volcanic systems in the Puna of the Andes. It is located in the Altiplano area, a highland bounded by the Bolivian Cordillera Real in the east and by the main chain of the Andes, the Western Cordillera, in the west. It results from the subduction of the Nazca Plate beneath the South American Plate. Melts caused by subduction have generated the volcanoes of the Andean Volcanic Belt including the APVC. The volcanic province is located between 21° S–24° S latitude. The APVC spans the countries of Argentina, Bolivia and Chile.

Cerro Guacha is a Miocene caldera in southwestern Bolivia's Sur Lípez Province. Part of the volcanic system of the Andes, it is considered to be part of the Central Volcanic Zone (CVZ), one of the three volcanic arcs of the Andes, and its associated Altiplano-Puna volcanic complex (APVC). A number of volcanic calderas occur within the latter.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Cerro Panizos</span>

Panizos is a Late Miocene caldera in the Potosí Department of Bolivia and the Jujuy Province of Argentina. It is part of the Altiplano-Puna volcanic complex of the Central Volcanic Zone in the Andes. 50 volcanoes active in recent times are found in the Central Volcanic Zone, and several major caldera complexes are situated in the area. The caldera is located in a difficult-to-access part of the Andes.

Pacha Qullu or Kimsa Misa is a 4,702-metre-high (15,427 ft) mountain in the Andes of Bolivia. It is located in the Oruro Department, Litoral Province, Huachacalla Municipality, west of Huachacalla (Wachaqalla). Pacha Qullu lies northwest of Inka Qhamachu. The plain at 18°42′44.86″S68°34′25.21″W northwest of Pacha Qullu is named Kimsa Misa Pampa (Quimsa Misa Pampa).

Wichhu Qullu is a mountain in the Bolivian Andes which reaches a height of approximately 3,840 m (12,600 ft). It is located in the Cochabamba Department, Tapacari Province. Wichhu Qullu lies west of the Ch'iyar Jaqhi River and north of the village of Ch'iyar Jaqhi.

Q'uwa Qullu is a 4,425-metre-high (14,518 ft) mountain in the Bolivian Andes. It is located in the La Paz Department, Inquisivi Province, in the southern parts of the Colquiri Municipality. Q'uwa Qullu lies northwest of Ch'iyar Jaqhi.
