Charles Koshiro Chibana (born September 11, 1989) is a judoka from Brazil of Japanese origin. [1] He won a gold medal at the 2015 Pan American Games. In addition, he won a gold medal at the 2014 and 2016 Pan American Judo Championships and a bronze medal at the 2013 edition.
Chibana was born in São Paulo, Brazil, and is a member of Esporte Clube Pinheiros in São Paulo. [1]
In 2007, Chibana was part of the Brazilian team who came in second at the World Judo Team Championships in Beijing. In 2008, he once again won a medal at the World Judo Team Championships, this time finishing third in Tokyo. [4]
In 2013, he came in fifth place in the 2013 World Judo Championships in Rio de Janeiro. [5]
In 2015, Chibana won the gold medal in the 2015 Pan American Games in Toronto. [6] He was eliminated in the first bout at the 2016 Olympics. [7]
On 14 May 2022 it was announced that Chibana will join the coaching staff of the Israeli national women's judo team. [3]

Borges was Brazil's flagbearer for the Closing Ceremony at the 2004 Summer Olympics.
Fernando de Queiroz Scherer is a Brazilian former international swimmer. He won the bronze medal in the 50-meter freestyle at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta and another bronze medal four years later in Sydney with the Brazilian relay team in the 4×100-meter freestyle.
Daniele Matias Hypólito is a Brazilian gymnast who competed at the 2000, 2004, 2008, 2012 and the 2016 Olympic Games. Hypólito is the first gymnast from Brazil to win a medal at the World Championships, a silver in floor exercise in 2001. She is also the nine-time senior all-around Brazilian national champion in artistic gymnastics, 2002 South American Games all-around champion and 2003 Pan American Games all-around bronze medalist. Hélia Rogério de Souza, nicknamed Fofão, is a retired Brazilian female volleyball player who competed for her country's national team in five consecutive Summer Olympics, starting in 1992. She won a gold medal in 2008 and twice won a bronze medal, in 1996 and 2000. She also claimed the gold medal at the 1999 Pan American Games.

Mayra Aguiar da Silva is a Brazilian judoka. She was a bronze medallist in three consecutive Olympics, 2012, 2016 and 2020. She is also three-time world champion. She is the first Brazilian woman to win three Olympic medals in an individual sport.
Rafaela Lopes Silva is a Brazilian judoka. She won gold medals at the World Judo Championships of 2013 and 2022 and at the 2016 Summer Olympics in the –57 kg weight division. Currently, she occupies the graduation third sergeant in the Navy of Brazil and integrates the Center of Physical Education Admiral Nunes (CEFAN), the Military Sports Department.
Laís da Silva Souza is a Brazilian former artistic gymnast and aerial skier. Souza represented Brazilian gymnastics team internationally from 2003 to 2008 and helped the Brazilian team qualify for two Summer Olympic Games. In 2013, she took up the winter sport of freestyle skiing, and qualified in the aerials event for the 2014 Winter Olympics, but was paralyzed in an accident during training weeks before the Olympics.
Felipe Kitadai is a judoka from Brazil. He won a bronze medal at the 2012 Olympics and a gold at the 2011 Pan American Games. He also won gold medals six consecutive times in the Pan American Games Judo Championships: at 2011 Guadalaraja, 2012 Montreal, 2013 San José, 2014 Guayaquil, 2015 Edmonton and 2016 Havana.
Adhemar Grijó Filho was a Brazilian athlete who competed in three Olympics. He represented Brazil in swimming at the 1952 Olympics and in water polo at the 1960 and 1964 Olympics.
Danielle Zangrando is a retired Brazilian judoka who competed in the women's lightweight category. She picked up a total of thirty medals in her career, including three from the Pan American Games, and a bronze from the 1995 World Judo Championships in Chiba, Japan, and also appeared in the 57-kg class in two editions of the Olympic Games. Growing up in Santos, Zangrando took up judo at the age of 5 following her brother to the dojo of sensei Paulo Duarte. Throughout most of her sporting career, Zangrando trained under Duarte as a full-fledged member of the judo squad for Santos FC Judô.
Arthur Nory Oyakawa Mariano is a Brazilian artistic gymnast and a member of the Brazilian national team. He participated in the 2015 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships, placing fourth in the horizontal bar and 12th all-around. He won the bronze medal in floor exercise at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. He is the 2019 World Champion on horizontal bar.

Rafael Augusto Buzacarini is a heavyweight judoka from Brazil. He won two silver medals at the 2020 and 2022 Pan American Judo Championships and qualified for the 2016 and 2020 Summer Olympics.
Maicon de Andrade Siqueira is a taekwondo competitor from Brazil. He won bronze medals at the 2016 Summer Olympics, at the 2019 World Taekwondo Championships and at the 2019 Pan American Games, being the first Brazilian man to get an Olympic medal in that sport - and second overall after Natália Falavigna.
