The Christian Democratic Party was a political party in Namibia. [1] It is known for its centrist and Christian democratic values. [2] Led by Petrus "Piet" Matheus Junius, the Christian Democratic Union merged into CDP, strengthening its political presence in the country.

In 1977, it was part of Democratic Turnhalle Alliance of Namibia (DTA) along with many other smaller parties like Bushman Alliance, the Democratic Turnhalle Party of Namibia (successor to the Nama Alliance), the National Democratic Party, the National Democratic Unity Party, NUDO, the Rehoboth DTA Party, the Republican Party (RP), Seoposengwe (former Tswana alliance), the South West Africa People’s Democratic United Front (SWADUF), the United Democratic Party and the United Party of Namibia. In October 1989, the party was a signatory to the report of the UN Security Council concerning the question of Namibia. [6]
