Christian Liberal party of Ukraine is a political party in Ukraine. The party says that it is guided by the values of Christianity and the principles of Western European democracy: parliamentarism, the market economy, free labour and powerful social programs. The party is led by the former Mayor of Kyiv, Leonid Chernovetskyi. [1]
In 2006 the party participated in national elections as part of the Block of People's Democratic Parties. At the Kyiv City Council election, 2008 the party was part of the Leonid Chernovetskyi Bloc alliance. It has never competed alone in national elections. [2] The party planned to compete in the 2012 Ukrainian parliamentary election also as a member of the Leonid Chernovetskyi Bloc, [3] but this alliance disbanded itself in the Kyiv City Council on September 22, 2011. [4]
The Our Ukraine–People's Self-Defense Bloc was an electoral alliance active in Ukraine from 2001 until 2012, associated with former President Viktor Yushchenko. Since 2005, the bloc had been dominated by a core consisting of the People's Union "Our Ukraine" party and five smaller partner parties. On 17 November 2011, the Ukrainian Parliament approved an election law that banned the participation of blocs of political parties in parliamentary elections. Since then several members of the Bloc have since merged with other parties.
The Liberal Party of Ukraine is a modern Ukrainian political party. It was founded on September 12, 1991 in Donetsk. The official date of registration is 10.10.1991, the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine certificate number is 132.
The Yulia Tymoshenko Bloc was the name of the bloc of political parties in Ukraine led by Yulia Tymoshenko since 2001. Leonid Mykhaylovych Chernovetskyi is a former Mayor of Kyiv, the capital of Ukraine, from 2006 until the summer of 2012. He was a successful businessman, founder and controlling stakeholder of the Pravex Group and Pravex Bank, one of the largest banks in Ukraine. Since the appointment by President Viktor Yanukovych of Oleksandr Popov as Head of Kyiv City State Administration on 16 November 2010, replacing Chernovetskyi, Chernovetskyi was deprived of any real decision-making role in Kyiv. He tendered his resignation on 1 June 2012.

The European Party of Ukraine is a Ukrainian political party registered by the Ministry of Justice on August 3, 2006. Its ideology is social-liberalism, when the state should maintain harmonious social relations: create appropriate conditions for free competition, to prevent the formation of market monopolies and protect the vulnerable population strata. They advocate reforms that they claim will increase social standards of life of Ukrainians to the European level. They support integration of Ukraine into the European Union. Initially, the party was headed by Mykola Moskalenko. In August 2013 the party had more than 5,000 members. The party did not take part in national elections since 2012.
Snap mayoral and city council elections were held in Kyiv on 25 May 2008. The election, originally scheduled to be held alongside nationwide 2010 local elections, was called by the Verkhovna Rada by a 246–5 vote on March 18 amid corruption allegations involving the incumbent Mayor Leonid Chernovetskyi. The local election determined the new Mayor of Kyiv, as well as the composition of the 120-seat Kyiv City Council.
