Christofer Drew Ingle (born Christopher Drew Ingle; February 11, 1991) is an American painter [1] and former musician best known as the frontman and guitarist of former bands indie rock Never Shout Never, [2] and experimental metal band Eat Me Raw. [3]
Ingle was born in Oceanside, California, to Nancy Keifner and Edward Ingle. He has three siblings: David, Sarah and Hannah Ingle. [4] He is of English, Irish, and German descent. He was raised in Joplin, Missouri. [5] [6]
Originally a solo project, Ingle began making music under the alias NeverShoutNever! in 2007 (age 16). His first exposure came through the internet, where he achieved success on MySpace before issuing the extended play, The Yippee EP on July 29, 2008. [2] On July 30, 2008, he was featured on TRL, where he performed his single "Bigcitydreams". [7] He toured with Hellogoodbye and Ace Enders in the fall of 2008. [8] The spelling was later changed to 'Never Shout Never', [9] and went on to form into a full band instead of a solo project exclusive to Ingle. [10] On January 26, 2010, Never Shout Never released their debut studio album, What Is Love? . [11] The second studio album, Harmony on August 24, 2010, peaking at number 14 on the Billboard 200 and sold 23,000 copies first week. [12] Time Travel was released as the third studio album on September 20, 2011. [13] On November 13, 2012, Indigo was released as the fourth studio album. [14] The fifth studio album, Sunflower was released on July 2, 2013. [15] On March 3, 2015, the sixth studio album, Recycled Youth was released. [16] Black Cat was released on August 7, 2015. [17] Ingle revealed in December 2018 that after a small tour in Mexico and Brasil the following month, Never Shout Never would disband. [18] However, he reached out to fans via an Instagram post two days later asking if he should keep making music under the name. Following the final show in Brazil he stated he was uncertain of the band's future. [19] [20] Ingle went on to release Unborn Spark, an acoustic LP, on June 12, 2020, after a 5-year break from releasing new music. [21] On November 25, 2023, Drew announced via Twitter his retirement from music to pursue a new career in professional painting. He also released the final mixes of his intended album, Advent of Violet Soul on the same day. [22] He has retired from the music industry multiple times throughout his life. [1] However, on October 29, 2024, Never Shout Never was announced to perform at When We Were Young in October 2025. [23]
In 2008, Ingle and fellow band members of Never Shout Never, Taylor McFee, Hayden Kaiser, and former member Caleb Denison, created an experimental band by the name "Eatmewhileimhot!", originally making music with post-hardcore influences, and on later releases experimenting by expanding their sound into metalcore, deathcore, and experimental metal. [3] Their debut studio album, xALBUMx was released on July 27, 2010, and peaked at number 46 on the US Heatseekers Album chart. [24] Their second studio album, Mushroom was released on March 2, 2012. In 2011, Ingle released his debut solo EP called The Modern Racket. [26] He released a free solo EP in 2012 titled, The Light. [27] He started a side project called Gonzo in 2012 and released three EPs, Beet Pharm, Da Funq and Esoteric. [28] [29] [30] In 2020, Ingle started a new psychedelic project called Dryymy. [31]
In 2022, Ingle revealed on Twitter that he would begin a new screamo project named "Shogun" and that he would be working on an EP for the project. On March 8, 2022, Ingle announced on Twitter that he would be retiring from music and decided to not release "Shogun." [32] However, he announced a new single for Shogun in August 2022. [33] Ingle also started an EDM project called Shen Chow. [34] On November 25, 2023, Drew announced via Twitter his second retirement from music. [1]
At the age of 16, Christofer became a vegetarian. [35] [36] Ingle is also Christian. [3] In 2019, Drew became a father to son, Lion Ezra Drew Ingle. [37]
In 2012, Ingle was arrested for marijuana possession and was charged with two felonies. [38] [39] In 2019, Ingle's brother David was shot to death by police after suffering a mental health crisis. [4]
Against Me! is an American punk rock band, formed in 1997 in Naples, Florida, by singer and guitarist Laura Jane Grace. That same year, Grace moved to Gainesville, Florida, which is considered the band's hometown. Since 2001, the band's lineup has also included guitarist James Bowman. After releasing three studio albums through independent record labels, Against Me! moved to Sire Records for 2007's New Wave, which reached no. 57 on the Billboard 200. In 2011, the band launched the record label Total Treble.
Foxy Shazam is an American rock band from Cincinnati, Ohio formed in 2004. As of 2020, the band's lineup consists of lead vocalist Eric Nally, pianist Sky White, trumpeter and backing vocalist Alex Nauth, bassist The Persistent Savage, guitarist Devin Williams and drummer Teddy Aitkins. The band released their debut album The Flamingo Trigger independently in 2005 before signing with Ferret Music, under which they released their second album Introducing Foxy Shazam in 2008. The following year, the band recorded its first major label record with producer John Feldmann. Foxy Shazam signed with Sire Records and released its self-titled major-label debut in 2010. The band's fourth studio album, The Church of Rock and Roll, was released in January 2012. Gonzo, the band's fifth album, was released April 2, 2014.
Never Shout Never is an American rock band formed in Joplin, Missouri, in 2007. Vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Christofer Drew began the band as a solo project before expanding it to a band, whose best-known lineup included himself, bassist Taylor MacFee, and drummer Hayden Kaiser. The band that accompanied Drew when it was a solo project were originally known as "The Shout". Never Shout Never released eight full-length albums and nine EPs.
Breathe Carolina are an American electronic music duo from Denver, Colorado. The duo formed in 2007 consisting of David Schmitt and Kyle Even. They later expanded to a full band whose best-known lineup included Schmitt, Even, drummer Eric Armenta, keytarist Joshua Aragon and DJ Luis Bonet. In 2013, Even left the group, while Tommy Cooperman joined that year. Breathe Carolina is currently composed of Schmitt and Cooperman.
