Clive Morris Brown (born 31 December 1946) is an Australian former politician and minister in the Gallop Government. Brown was a member of the Western Australian Legislative Assembly between 1993 and 2005 for the electorates of Bassendean and previously a member for the Morley from 1993 until its abolition in 1996.
Brown was born in 1946 in London,England. He arrived in Western Australia as a child in 1956. [1]
Before entering politics,Brown worked in the trade union movement. [2]
He was elected to the electorate of Bassendean in the Western Australian Legislative Assembly at the 1993 Western Australian election. Between 1994 and 2001 Brown served in a number of roles in the Labor shadow cabinet. [1]
After Labor's win at the 2001 Western Australian election,Brown joined Premier Geoff Gallop's cabinet,becoming Minister for State Development. He held this role until his retirement before the 2005 Western Australian election. In announcing his intention to retire in 2004,he cited a desire to enter business. [1] [3]

She is best known for her role as the minister for planning and infrastructure during the construction of the Mandurah line. Born in Melbourne,she moved to Perth to study at the University of Western Australia,graduating with a Bachelor of Arts and later with a law degree. She worked for the Department of Employment before practising as a lawyer between 1986 and 1992. During this time,she also served on the Perth City Council. In 1976,MacTiernan joined the Australian Labor Party,and at the 1993 Western Australian state election,she was elected to the Legislative Council's East Metropolitan Region. The Gallop Ministry was the 33rd Ministry of the Government of Western Australia,and was led by Labor Premier Geoff Gallop and his deputy,Eric Ripper. It succeeded the Court–Cowan Ministry on 16 February 2001,following the defeat of the Liberal-National coalition government at the 2001 election six days earlier. The Ministry was reconstituted on 10 March 2005 following the February 2005 election. It was succeeded by the Carpenter Ministry on 3 February 2006 due to the retirement of Dr Geoff Gallop from politics on 25 January.
Samuel Mathew Piantadosi was an Australian union official and politician. A senior Western Australian union official and the founding chairman of the Ethnic Communities Council in the 1980s,he was elected as a Labor Party member of the Western Australian Legislative Council at the 1983 state election. His election made him the first post-war Italian migrant to be elected to the Parliament of Western Australia. He was re-elected in 1989,but resigned from the Labor Party in 1996,late in his second term,after reading newspaper reports that party figures were suggesting he would retire. He subsequently resigned from the Legislative Council several months short of the conclusion of his term in an unsuccessful attempt to contest the Legislative Assembly seat of Yokine as an independent at the 1996 state election. He returned to politics in 2007 as a councillor and later Deputy Mayor of the Town of Bassendean,and held the latter role until his death.
