The coal-black salamander (Bolitoglossa anthracina) is a species of salamander in the family Plethodontidae. It is endemic to Panama. Its natural habitat is subtropical or tropical moist montane forests. It is totally black in colour apart from the soles of its feet which are grey and it has a large number of maxillary teeth. ^[2] It is threatened by habitat loss.
