The Colombian International also known as the Colombiano Internacional also known as the International Championships of Colombia or Campeonatos Internacionales de Colombia [1] was a men's and women's clay court tennis tournament established in 1951 and played at the Country Club of Barranquilla, [2] Barranquilla, Colombia, until 1970.

The tournament was known locally as the City of Barranquilla Championships or Campeonato Ciudad de Barranquilla. [3]

History

The Colombian International (Colombiano Internacional) and known locally as the City of Barranquilla Championships (Campeonato Ciudad de Barranquilla) was established in 1951, [4] and played on clay courts initially in Bogotá, [5] before moving to the Country Club of Barranquilla, Barranquilla, Colombia. [6] The tournament was part ILTF Caribbean Circuit which was a sub circuit of the international tennis tour in from the 1950s to early 1970s. The tournament was staged annually until 1970 when it was discontinued.

In 1977 after a period of seven years a new men's only successor tournament was revived called the International Tennis Championships of Colombia. That event was staged in Bogotá, Colombia and it ran until 1980.

The Argentina Open or Abierto Argentino is an annual tennis event for male tennis players held in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The Belgian Open or Brussels International was a tennis tournament founded in 1899 as a combined men's and women's clay court tennis tournament.

The 1949 Campeonato Profesional was the second season of Colombia's top-flight football league. The tournament was started on April 25. 14 teams compete against one another and played each weekend. This tournament was famous for mark the beginning of El Dorado. Millonarios and Deportivo Cali, both with 44 points, played two final matches to decide the champion of the season. Santa Fe, the defending champion, was 3rd with 39 points.

The Manchester Open previously known as the Northern Lawn Tennis Championships, the Northern Championships, the Northern Tennis Tournament and the Manchester Trophy was a grass court tennis tournament on the ATP Tour held at the Northern Lawn Tennis Club, in the Didsbury suburb of Manchester, Great Britain. The North of England Championships and later known as the Rothmans Open North of England Championships, was a men's and women's grass court tennis tournament founded in 1884 as the North Yorkshire Tournament. It was mainly held at Scarborough, North Yorkshire, Great Britain from. The tournament was discontinued in 1974 when it was staged at Hoylake.

The Caribe Hilton International also called the Caribe Hilton International Championships was a men's and women's tennis tournament played outdoors on hard courts from 1953 to 1973. The editions from 1971 to 1973 were known as the Caribe Hilton Invitational.

The German Indoor Championships or officially the West German Indoor Championships was a men's and women's international open tennis tournament founded in 1911 as the German Covered Court Championships or German International Covered Court Championships and first played on indoor wood courts at the Bremen Tennis Club. The tournament was mainly held in Bremen, West Germany, but was also played at other locations for the duration of its run. In 1981 the championships were last held in Stuttgart then it was discontinued.

The Kenya Open also known as the Kenya Championships was a men's and women's tennis tournament founded in 1934 as the Kenyan International Championships. later called the Kenyan Closed Championships It was organised by the Kenyan Lawn Tennis Association (f.1922), Nairobi, Kenya and played on clay courts and ran until 1986 as part of the ILTF Independent Circuit.
