Smith won his maiden ATP Challenger singles title at the 2025 Cleveland Open. [3] [4] [5]

Smith qualified at the 2025 Indian Wells Open making his ATP and also Masters 1000 main draw debut [6] [7] and defeated Flavio Cobolli to record his first tour-level win. [8] [9] [10]

At the 2025 US Men's Clay Court Championships, Colton Smith qualified and reached the quarterfinals for the first time in an ATP event, first defeating James Duckworth 6-2 6-2, and then defeating 2023 NCAA Champ Ethan Quinn 6-3 6-4. [11]
