Company 3 TFCA Luminary Award

The Company 3 TFCA Luminary Award, formerly the Clyde Gilmour Award, is an annual award, presented at the discretion the Toronto Film Critics Association as a lifetime achievement award for distinguished contributions to the Canadian film industry. [1] Named in memory of Canadian broadcaster Clyde Gilmour, who was posthumously honoured as the award's first recipient, the award honours achievements in any part of the Canadian film industry, including direction, production, criticism, broadcasting and film festival programming, that have helped to enrich the understanding and appreciation of film in Canada.

Since 2013, the recipient has also been empowered to select an emerging filmmaker to a receive a "pay it forward" grant of $50,000 in post-production services toward the production of a forthcoming film. [2]

Kelly Fyffe-Marshall is a Canadian filmmaker best known for her 2020 two-part short film Black Bodies, which won the Changemaker Award at the 2020 Toronto International Film Festival, and won the Canadian Screen Award for Best Live Action Short Drama at the 9th Canadian Screen Awards in 2021.

Gerald Arthur Pratley was a Canadian film critic and historian. A longtime film critic for the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, he was historically most noted as founder and director of the Ontario Film Institute, a film archive and reference library which was acquired by the Toronto International Film Festival in 1990 and became the contemporary Film Reference Library and TIFF Cinematheque.

Thyrone Tommy is a Canadian film director and screenwriter. After writing and directing the short film Mariner (2016), Tommy received acclaim for his work on the feature film Learn to Swim (2021), both of which premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival.

The 25th Toronto Film Critics Association Awards, honoring the best in film for 2021, were announced on January 16, 2022. Drive My Car and The Lost Daughter received the most awards with three wins each, with the former receiving the Best Picture award. The ceremony was held on March 7, 2022.

When Morning Comes is a 2022 Canadian-Jamaican drama film, written and directed by Kelly Fyffe-Marshall. The film centres on Jamal, a young boy in Jamaica who is processing his uncertain feelings about his mother Neesha's decision to send him to live in Canada with his grandmother following his father's death.

Lina Rodriguez is a Colombian-Canadian filmmaker and screenwriter, most noted for her 2022 documentary film My Two Voices .

The Toronto Film Critics Association Award for Best First Feature is one of the annual awards given by the Toronto Film Critics Association.
