Stewart Mason of AllMusic criticized Convenience as being misdirected and lackluster, saying it "sounds in large part like a tentative attempt to introduce Die Warzau's sample-happy dance-industrial aesthetic into a world where industrial is entirely yesterday's news." [4] Hybrid Magazine praised the clean production quality but criticized the music for being too accessible. [5] Similarly Mike Schiller of PopMatters praised the Die Warzau for embracing a more pop-oriented direction but disproved of their excessive stylistic divergences. [6] Tony Fletcher of Trouser Press commended the album and said "surprising, original and appealing, Convenience breaks the mold and begins a new phase for a band that is clearly unburdened by stylistic stereotypes." [7]
Kim Owens of Kaffeine Buzz commended the band for reinventing itself, saying "Although it may alienate the true fans of the group's hardcore material of the past, I see it as a brave, creative, and welcomed move instead of taking the predictable path." [8] Steve Mangione of mxdwn Music noted Jim Marcus's vocals and Van Christie's production as being the strong points of the album and said "layers of samples, crunchy noise, tight beats and sinister basslines propel the songs forward in a delectably dismal blend of electronica and darkwave." [9]
All tracks are written by Van Christie, Dan Evans, Abel Garibaldi and Jim Marcus, except "Glare" by Marcel Henderson, "Superbuick" by J.C. Stokes and "Kleen" by Mike Gray.

Die Warzau was an American industrial music band formed in 1987 by Jim Marcus and Van Christie.
Metropolis is the fourth studio album by Sister Machine Gun, released on July 15, 1997 by TVT and Wax Trax! Records. The album spent more than 14 weeks on the CMJ Radio Top 200 chart, peaking at #7.
Premonition is the second studio album by Vampire Rodents, released on May 19, 1992 by V.R. Productions. The album represented a musical shift for the band with the introduction of string instruments and further influence of classical music in the compositions. The album contains the most writing credits for composer Victor Wulf, who composed the music for five out of its twenty-one tracks.
Whiplash Boychild is the solo debut album by Scottish musician and singer-songwriter Chris Connelly, who is best known for his work for bands such as Ministry, The Revolting Cocks, and Pigface. It was released in 1991 through Wax Trax! Records. The album also features session contributions from drummer William Rieflin, and bass guitarist Stuart Zechman, who later reunited with Connelly on his next album, Phenobarb Bambalam (1992).

The band introduced elements of funk music and the speeches of American politicians into their sample library to musically articulate topics concerning race relations such as "Funkopolis". Percussionist Chris Vrenna, who had performed on Nine Inch Nails' 1989 debut Pretty Hate Machine, joined the band to collaborate on tour and to record in studio.
Engine is the third studio album by Die Warzau, released on February 28, 1995 by TVT and Wax Trax! Records. It was the band's first album in over two years and upon release was considered a masterpiece of industrial music.
Vinyl88 is a compilation album by Die Warzau, released on September 16, 2008, by Pulseblack and Rosehip Records. It was released to celebrate the band's two decades of activity and comprised remixed versions of some of their best known songs with previously unreleased tracks. In 2009 the band agreed to license the songs "Welcome to America" and "Hitler's Brain" from the album to remixgalaxy.com, a website that allowed access to multi-track forms for remixing under a non-commercial personal-use license.
Borghild is an EP by Die Warzau, released on September 30, 2009 by Pulseblack. It was given away for a limited time during the release party of I:Scintilla's 2010 album Dying and Falling. It was then made available for sale as a music download on March 20, 2013.
