Cossatot Community College of the University of Arkansas (CCCUA) is a public community college serving southwest Arkansas. Its main campus is located in the foothills of the Ouachita Mountains in De Queen, Arkansas.
Cossatot Vocational-Technical School was established in 1975 to serve as a location for basic vocational education in southwest Arkansas. In 1991, the institution was renamed to Cossatot Technical College through legislative actions. Ten years later in 2001, Cossatot Technical College joined the University of Arkansas System, becoming Cossatot Community College of the University of Arkansas. [2] Since then, the college has expanded to offer Technical Certificates in seven programs, Certificates of Proficiency in thirteen programs, and five Associate's Degree programs.
UA Cossatot is governed by a nine-member Board of Visitors.
CCCUA currently maintains three campuses, the main campus in De Queen and two extension campuses in nearby Nashville and Ashdown.
The De Queen campus serves as CCCUA's main campus and is divided into eleven separate buildings and areas. These buildings contain approximately 60,000 square feet (5,600 m2), and are completely air-conditioned, with the exception of the Trade and Industry shops and the warehouse. Modern equipment, as well as the latest in teaching and audiovisual technology, are available to students.
An extension center in Nashville provides office and classroom space for a variety of credit and non-credit classes and special projects. This building has fully equipped computer labs.
The Ashdown Extension is CCCUA's newest facility. This 53,640 sq ft (4,983 m2). facility houses numerous programs for CCCUA and the Ashdown community. It has four large lecture classrooms, Internet/computer lab, a Computer Repair/CISCO lab, two interactive video classrooms, an Electrical Apprenticeship classroom, and a Hydraulics/Pneumatics classroom. Completed in 2009, the Ashdown campus renovation has introduced a Culinary Arts kitchen as well as the Barbara Horn Civic Center.
CCCUA offers both the Associate of Arts and Associate of Science degrees, which can be credited toward the first two years of a four-year degree program. The degrees consists of certain required courses and certain electives (which must be college transfer classes) in a specific focus area which will constitute the major.
The Associate of Science degree is offered for mathematics, science, computer science, or agriculture, of which 8–9 hours must be in a specific field.
CCCUA also offers the Associate of Arts Teaching degree in the Middle School area (language arts and math/science), an Associate of General Studies degree (for students needing a two-year degree but not a four-year degree) the Associate of Applied Science degree in 11 disciplines (a 12th discipline is pending approval), technical certificates in seven disciplines, and Certificates of Proficiency in 16 disciplines.
CCCUA students may take all courses required for the Associate of Arts and Associate of General Studies degrees, in their entirety, via the Internet.
CCCUA also offers adult education courses in five areas including the ability for students to work towards and obtain a General Equivalency Diploma (GED), and continuing education courses for the surrounding communities for both personal and work-related development.
CCCUA offers some courses through various forms of distance education; the Associate of Applied Science in Registered Nursing courses in nursing theory are done completely by interactive video as part of the Arkansas Rural Nursing Education Consortium, of which CCCUA's program is a member.
CCCUA has partnered with other community colleges, as well as with public and private universities in Arkansas, to offer bachelor's and master's degrees whereby students can complete most or all of their courses on the CCCUA campus facilities.
CCCUA is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools, and its programs have been approved by the Arkansas Department of Higher Education. Several of its individual programs have been approved by national accrediting organizations as well.
Colorado Mountain College (CMC) is a public community college with multiple campuses in western Colorado. Founded in 1965, the institution offers numerous associate degrees, seven bachelor's degrees and a variety of career-technical certificates. Approximately 20,000 students take on-campus or online classes every year.
The University of Alaska Southeast is a public university with its main campus in Juneau, Alaska and extended campuses in Sitka and Ketchikan. It is part of the University of Alaska System and was established on July 1, 1987, with the restructuring and consolidation of the former University of Alaska Juneau, Ketchikan Community College, and Islands Community College (Sitka). The university is accredited by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities.
Nashville State Community College is a public community college in Nashville, Tennessee. It is operated by the Tennessee Board of Regents and shares a 109-acre (0.44 km2) campus with the Tennessee College of Applied Technology at Nashville. The Nashville State facilities include 239,000 square feet (22,200 m2) of space for classrooms, labs, offices, student services, and a library. Nashville State offers a wide array of programs and degrees including associate degree and technical certificate studies, university parallel transfer programs to four-year institutions, continuing education, adult education, two Early College High School programs, Dual Enrollment courses, and community service programs.
Medgar Evers College is a public college in New York City. It is a senior college of the City University of New York (CUNY), offering baccalaureate and associate degrees. It was established in 1970 in central Brooklyn. It is named after Medgar Wiley Evers, an African American civil rights leader assassinated on June 12, 1963.

Bucks County Community College (Bucks) is a public community college in Bucks County, Pennsylvania. Founded in 1964, Bucks has three campuses and online courses: a main campus in Newtown, an "Upper Bucks" campus in the town of Perkasie, and a "Lower Bucks" campus in the town of Bristol. There are also various satellite facilities located throughout the county. The college offers courses via face-to-face classroom-based instruction, eLearning classes offered completely online, and in hybrid (blended) modes that combine face-to-face instruction with online learning. American Samoa Community College (ASCC) is a public land-grant community college in the village of Mapusaga, American Samoa. Only legal residents of American Samoa who have graduated from high school or obtained a General Equivalency Diploma are admitted to ASCC.
Pikes Peak State College is a public community college in Colorado Springs, Colorado. It is the largest institution of higher education in the Pikes Peak region. PPSC offers more than 150 programs in liberal arts and sciences transfer and career technical education. The college's 60+60 Bachelor's Degree Transfer Program guarantees transfer of the PPSC Associate of Arts or Associate of Science degrees to any public institution of higher education in Colorado. Students take two years of study at PPSC, then transfer as a junior to the four-year college or university of their choice.
Black River Technical College (BRTC) is a public community college in Pocahontas, Arkansas. It is named for the Black River which runs through the city. BRTC serves approximately 3,000 students annually through its degree programs, technical courses, and community educational offerings.
Henderson Community College (HCC) is a community college in Henderson, Kentucky. It is one of 16 two-year, open-admissions colleges of the Kentucky Community and Technical College System (KCTCS). It was established in 1960 under the leadership of the late Dr. Louis C. Alderman, Jr., the first Director of the Northwest Extension of the University of Kentucky. The college became a charter member of the University of Kentucky's Community College System in 1964, changing its name to Henderson Community College. HCC became a member of KCTCS in 1998. HCC is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) and most recently received reaffirmation for their accreditation through 2032.
Peninsula College is a public community college in Port Angeles, Washington, on the Olympic Peninsula. It is part of the Washington Community and Technical Colleges system and offers a Bachelor of Applied Science in Applied Management degree, transfer Associate degree programs, professional-technical degrees and certificates, community education courses, and pre-college courses. It also has distance education and online learning options.
Louisiana State University of Alexandria is a public college in Alexandria, Louisiana. It offers undergraduate degrees in numerous disciplines. The university is a unit of the LSU System and operates under the auspices of the Louisiana Board of Regents. As of fall 2017, LSUA had an enrollment of 3,378 students which is recorded as the highest in the university's history. The institution is located on the grounds of the former Oakland Plantation some eight miles south of downtown Alexandria. The campus boasts many majestic oaks dating from the nineteenth century.
East Mississippi Community College (EMCC), formerly East Mississippi Junior College, is a public community college in Scooba, Mississippi. EMCC serves and is supported by Clay, Kemper, Lauderdale, Lowndes, Noxubee and Oktibbeha counties in east central Mississippi. The college has two principal campuses in Scooba and Mayhew, Mississippi and offers courses at five other locations. One of fifteen community colleges in Mississippi, EMCC is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) to award the Associate of Applied Science degree and the Associate of Arts degree.
The University of the East, Caloocan Extension Campus is a private higher education institution in Caloocan, Philippines. It is one of the three campuses of the University of the East system. It is an autonomous unit headed by a chancellor, with the College of Business Administration, Arts and Sciences, Engineering, and Fine Arts. UE Caloocan is called Caloocan Campus to distinguish it from the Manila Campus on C.M. Recto Avenue.
CT State Community College Norwalk, formerly Norwalk Community College (NCC), Norwalk State Technical College and Norwalk Community-Technical College, is a public community college in Norwalk, Connecticut. It is the third-largest of the twelve colleges in the Connecticut State Colleges & Universities (CSCU) system. The school, which has an open admissions policy, offers 45 associate degree and 26 certificate programs.
Naugatuck Valley Community College (NVCC) is a public community college in Waterbury, Connecticut. It is one of the 13 colleges in the Connecticut State Colleges & Universities system. NVCC grants a variety of associate degrees and certificates.
Lebanon College was a two-year private not-for-profit college located in Lebanon, New Hampshire. It was founded in 1956, and closed in 2014, due to financial difficulties. In 2015 Lebanon College facilities and certain programs were purchased by the public community college system of New Hampshire. After renovations to the main academic building, the Lebanon campus of River Valley Community College opened in January 2016.
Western Kentucky University-Owensboro is a regional campus of Western Kentucky University offering public, post-secondary education. It offers 23 undergraduate degrees, partnering with the Kentucky Community and Technical College System in a +2 program wherein students can transfer to WKU in Owensboro to complete an undergraduate degree after earning their associate's degree. WKU in Owensboro is located at 4821 New Hartford Road, across the street from the Owensboro Community and Technical College main campus and minutes south of the Ohio River. WKU in Owensboro offers benefits of a public university while maintaining personal student/staff relationships and a sense of community.
Missoula College is the junior college of the University of Montana in Missoula, Montana. The college was founded in 1956 and became part of the University of Montana in 1994. It offers 35 programs including career, transfer, and technical programs. The five academic departments include the Department of Applied Computing and Electronics, Department of Industrial Technology, Department of Applied Arts and Sciences, Department of Business Technology, and Department of Health Professions. The college also provides workforce development for the region as well as dual credit courses for hundreds of high school students in the area, and works to support adults seeking new career opportunities or professional development. During the Fall 2010 semester, 2,444 students were enrolled at Missoula College.
