The Creation Society was a left-wing cultural organisation in China to encourage literary and cultural exploration. The founders wished to establish a 'society of art for art's sake'. [1] The Society was established by a group of students who were studying in Japan, [2] such as Guo Moruo,Yu Dafu,Zhang Ziping,Tian Han,Zheng Boqi,and Cheng Fangwu. [3] [4] [5] The Society was banned by the Nationalist government in 1929.
The history of Chinese literature extends thousands of years,from the earliest recorded dynastic court archives to the mature vernacular fiction novels that arose during the Ming dynasty to entertain the masses of literate Chinese. The introduction of widespread woodblock printing during the Tang dynasty (618–907) and the invention of movable type printing by Bi Sheng (990–1051) during the Song dynasty (960–1279) rapidly spread written knowledge throughout China. In more modern times,the author Lu Xun (1881–1936) is considered an influential voice of baihua literature in China.
Tian Han,formerly romanized as T'ien Han,was a Chinese drama activist,playwright,a leader of revolutionary music and films,as well as a translator and poet. He emerged at the time of the New Culture Movement of the early 20th century and continued to be active until the Cultural Revolution,when he was denounced and jailed for two years until his death,before being "posthumously rehabilitated" by the Chinese authorities in 1979. He is considered by drama historians as one of the three founders of Chinese spoken drama,together with Ouyang Yuqian and Hong Shen. His most famous legacy may be the lyrics he wrote for "March of the Volunteers" in 1934,which were later adopted as the national anthem of the People's Republic of China.

Yu Wen,better known by his courtesy name Yu Dafu was a modern Chinese short story writer and poet. He was one of the new literary group initiators,and this new literary group was named the Creation Society. His literary masterpieces include Chenlun,Chunfeng chenzui de wanshang,Guoqu,Chuben and so on. Yu Dafu's literary works' writing style and main themes profoundly influenced a group of young writers and formed a spectacular romantic trend in Chinese literature in the 1920s and 1930s. He died in the Japanese-occupied Dutch East Indies,likely executed.

Cheng Fangwu was a top level Party elder 元老who cut his teeth at the beginning of the long march,responsible for education of the Chinese Red Army and the party apparatus from the mid-1930s to the end of his life. Earlier in the 1920s he was active as an author of the new literature and a translator.

China Writers Association or Chinese Writers Association is a subordinate organization of the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles (CFLAC). Founded in July 1949,the organization was initially named the China National Literature Workers Association. In September 1953,it was renamed the China Writers Association. The association's leadership was purged shortly after the 1989 Tiananmen Square protests. In April 2012,the organization changed its translated name to China Writers Association.
Deyunshe,formally Beijing Deyunshe Culture Communication Company Ltd.,is a Chinese xiangsheng organization and folk art performance group based in Beijing,established by comedians Zhang Wenshun,Guo Degang and Li Jing in 1995. Originally known as the Beijing Conversation Conference,in 2003 it changed its name to Deyunshe. It is the key to "let the cross talk back to the theatre". On July 3,2011,Deyunshe inaugurated a new form in the Beizhan Theatre,by using the dialects dramas and comic dialogues to interpret the cross talks of various styles from the Qing dynasty to the Republic of China.
Zhang Dinghuang (1895–1986),also known as Zhang Fengju was a Chinese-American antiquarian,linguist,literary critic,poet,and translator. He was born in Nanchang and an expert in antique manuscripts. Zhang was a supporting but key figure of the rich 20th century Chinese literary movements.
Sinking is a novella written by Yu Dafu. The story was completed in Tokyo in 1921 and later published in a collection named Sinking in Shanghai the same year. It is among the first generation of modern Chinese fictions telling psychological stories. The frank expression of sexuality and innovative emphasis on subjectivity of the protagonist is one of the reasons for Sinking’s status as romantic,representative of May Fourth literature.
