The Ukrainian cricket team is a fledgling team which represents the nation of Ukraine in international cricket competitions. They are not officially endorsed by the International Cricket Council (ICC) and are therefore not entitled to participate in ICC official events, [1] however they do have an application to the European Cricket Council pending, which should see them granted affiliate status in the near future. Ukraine Cricket Federation (UCF) is an organization in development that seeks to unify Ukraine based cricket community and become the sole Ukraine governing body for the sport of cricket recognized by both the ICC and National Olympic Committee of Ukraine (NOC). The UCF structure has been established to facilitate the governance, development, regulation and promotion of cricket in Ukraine.
In July 2021, the Ukraine Cricket Federation began the process to become an Associate member of the ICC, [2] but this was put on hold following the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine. [3] A year later, the Ukraine Cricket Federation said it was ready to become an Associate member at the ICC's next board meeting. [4]
UCB (Ukrainian Cricket Board) is the main cricketing body of Ukraine. Ukraine's cricket calendar is full of activities with three major tournaments. The first tournament is the ASMC (Amit Sisodia Memorial Cup) which is a national tournament and has been running since 2006. In 2012, the tournament expanded to eight teams and have participated in the tournament ever since. The second tournament of the Ukrainian summer is the KCL (Kyiv Cricket League) which has been running successfully for last 7 years and is limited to teams from Kyiv Oblast (state) with allowance of 4 players from anywhere else in Ukraine and 1 Ukrainian national player in the playing XI. In 2012, 7 teams participated. The last tournament of the season is Champions' League which includes the semi-finalists of the two earlier tournaments.
Most of the matches for last 10 years are being conducted at Voskhod Stadium which is a football pitch adapted for cricket. Cricket matches are being played on an artificial turf. The matches played are in the Twenty20 format (ICC Rules).
Business people or expats from south Asian countries (mainly from India) support UCB financially in order to carry out the activities.
In the past some of the great ambassadors of game who have visited UCB are Farokh Engineer, Marvan Atapattu, Jeevan Mendis and Gayan Wijekoon.
In June 2012, (Manland Dads CC) became the first overseas team to tour Kyiv. The BBC has covered the event.
In June 2016, UCB team has participated in the MCL (Mediterranean Cricket League) which is played in Split, Croatia and won the tournament.
In September 2017, UCB team participated in the 3rd Edition of European T20 Club Champions League organised by Warsaw Cricket Club.
UCB along with Wayne Zschch of Kagarlyk Cricket Club has one ground at Kagarlyk, which has a cement wicket covered with Astro turf. The plan is to introduce Cricket in schools and help youngsters understand and play the game.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) is the global governing body of cricket. It was founded as the Imperial Cricket Conference in 1909 by representatives from Australia, England, and South Africa. It was renamed as the International Cricket Conference in 1965 and adopted its current name in 1987. The ICC has its headquarters in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
Cricket is the most popular sport in India. It is played almost everywhere in the country. The Board of Control for Cricket in India is the governing body of Indian cricket and conduct all domestic tournaments and select the players for India national cricket team and India women's national cricket team.
The Ukraine national football team represents Ukraine in men's international football, and is governed by the Ukrainian Association of Football, the governing body for football in Ukraine. Ukraine's home ground is the Olimpiyskiy Stadium in Kyiv. The team has been a full member of UEFA and FIFA since 1992.
The United Arab Emirates men's national cricket team is the team that represents the United Arab Emirates in international cricket. They are governed by the Emirates Cricket Board (ECB) which became an Affiliate Member of the International Cricket Council (ICC) in 1989 and an Associate Member the following year. Since 2005, the ICC's headquarters have been located in Dubai.
The Canada national cricket team represents Canada in international cricket. The team is administered by Cricket Canada, which became an associate member of the International Cricket Council (ICC) in 1968.
The Ukrainian Premier League or UPL is the highest division of Ukrainian annual football championship. Originally known as the Vyshcha Liha it was formed in 1991 during the 1992 Ukrainian football championship upon discontinuation of the 1991 Soviet football championship and included the Ukraine-based clubs that competed previously in the Soviet top three tiers competitions as well as better clubs of the Ukrainian republican competitions. The initial season of the league featured six former Soviet Top League clubs among which were Dynamo, Shakhtar, Chornomorets, Dnipro, Metalist, Metalurh as well as four more clubs that previously also competed at the top league.
The Oman men's national cricket team is the team that represents the country of Oman in international matches and is governed by Oman Cricket, which became an affiliate member of the International Cricket Council (ICC) in 2000, and gained associate status in 2014. The national side has played matches at the Twenty20 International level. On 24 April 2019, Oman achieved One-Day International status for the first time until 2023, after they beat tournament hosts Namibia by four wickets in 2019 ICC World Cricket League Division Two.
FC Vorskla Poltava is a Ukrainian professional football club based in Poltava that competes in the Ukrainian Premier League, the top flight of Ukrainian football.
The Malaysia national cricket team represents the country of Malaysia in international cricket matches. The team is organised by the Malaysian Cricket Association which has been an associate member of the International Cricket Council (ICC) since 1967.
The Singapore national cricket team is the team that represents Singapore in international cricket. Singapore has been an associate member of the International Cricket Council (ICC) since 1974, and was a founding member of the Asian Cricket Council formed in 1983.
Cricket Canada, known as the Canadian Cricket Association (CCA) until November 2007, is the governing body of cricket in Canada. It was established in 1892 and has its current headquarters in Toronto, Ontario. It administers the national men's and women's teams, as well as several youth teams at various age levels. In addition, Cricket Canada and its affiliates run several grassroots and development programs and leagues nationwide. Cricket Canada is Canada's representative at the International Cricket Council and has been an associate member of that body since 1968. It is included in the ICC Americas region.
The Bahrain national cricket team is the team that represents the country of Bahrain in international cricket. The team is organised by the Bahrain Cricket Association (BCA), which became an ICC affiliate member in 2001 and an associate member in 2017.
The Chile national cricket team is the team that represents Chile in international cricket. The team is organised by the Chilean Cricket Association, which became an affiliate member of the International Cricket Council (ICC) in 2001 and an associate member in 2017. However, the national side had debuted as early as 1893, when it played Argentina in Santiago. Chile began playing regular international matches in the early 1920s, and, with the exception of a gap during World War II, has continued to do so. Until the team affiliated to the ICC, its opponents were almost all other South American teams. It first participated in an ICC tournament in 2006, when it fielded a team in division three of the 2006 ICC Americas Championship. In the South American Championships, which began in 1995, Chile has participated in every edition, but won only twice, in 2011 & 2016.
The Portuguese national cricket team is the team that represents the country of Portugal in international cricket.
The Sweden national cricket team is the team that represents Sweden in international cricket. It is organised by the Swedish Cricket Federation which has been an affiliate member of the International Cricket Council (ICC) since 1997 and an associate member since 2017. The team coach is former South African international Jonty Rhodes, who was appointed in September 2020.
Cricket South Africa (CSA) is the governing body for both professional and amateur cricket in South Africa. In 1991, the separate South African Cricket Union and the South African Cricket Board merged to form the United Cricket Board of South Africa (UCB), ending enforced racial separation governance in South African cricket. Cricket South Africa was formed in 2002, and initially ran parallel to the UCB, before becoming the sole governing body in 2008. As an affiliate of the South African Sports Confederation and Olympic Committee (SASCOC), and a full member of the International Cricket Council (ICC), CSA administers all levels of cricket in South Africa, including the national teams in all three formats for both men and women.
The history of cricket in Pakistan predates the creation of the country in 1947. The first international cricket match in what is now Pakistan today was held in Karachi on 22 November 1935 between Sindh and Australia. The match was seen by 5,000 Karachiites. Cricket was introduced by the British during their colonial rule of British India, which covered the area now known as Pakistan. Cricket is the most popular sport in the country. The Pakistan Cricket Board controls all domestic cricket in Pakistan and the national teams. Pakistan is an official member of the International Cricket Council and the Asian Cricket Council. Regarded as one of the best and most passionate cricketing nations, Pakistan has won the Cricket World Cup in 1992, ICC T20 World Cup in 2009, the ICC Champions Trophy in 2017, the ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup in 2004 and 2006, the ACC Asia Cup in 2000 and 2012. Pakistan were runner ups in the 1999 Cricket World Cup and 2007 and 2022 T20 World Cups. Pakistan have also been runner ups in several Asia Cup editions.
Cricket is a growing sport in Iceland, involving five club teams and the national side. Iceland is not a member of the International Cricket Council (ICC), but has ambitions to become an associate member of the ICC by 2024/25.
Sport in Sri Lanka is a significant part of Sri Lankan culture. Although the Sports Ministry named volleyball the national sport, the most popular sport is Cricket. Rugby union is also popular. Other popular sports are water sports, badminton, athletics, football, basketball and tennis. Sri Lanka's schools and colleges regularly organize sports and athletics teams, competing on provincial and national levels.
Serbian Cricket Federation, also known as Kriket federacija Srbije is the official governing body of the sport of cricket in Serbia. Its current headquarters is in Belgrade, Serbia. Serbian Cricket Federation is the Serbian representative at the International Cricket Council and is an affiliate member and has been a member of that body since June 2015. It is also a member of the ICC Europe. Since 2017, they are an associate member.
