Croatia selected its entry for the 1994 Eurovision Song Contest through the "Dora 1994" contest, which was held on 20 March 1994, organised by the Croatian national broadcaster Hrvatska radiotelevizija (HRT) in Opatija. The winner was Tony Cetinski with "Nek' ti bude ljubav sva".

Dora 1994

HRT organised the Dora contest to select the Croatian entry to the Eurovision Song Contest 1994, held in Dublin, Ireland, on 30 April 1994. This was the 2nd edition of Dora, held in Opatija. The national contest consisted of a televised final with 21 songs held on 20 March 1994 selected from a public call for submissions from songwriters and composers. The winner was chosen by the votes of 11 regional juries.

Croatia in the Eurovision Song Contest

Croatia has participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 26 times since making its debut at the 1993 contest. Their entry has since 1993, excluding from 2012 to 2018, been selected at the Dora pop festival, an event organised by the national public broadcaster Croatian Radiotelevision (HRT). Croatia's best result in the contest is a fourth-place finish in 1996 and 1999.

Croatia’s was represented by Severina in the Eurovision Song Contest 2006 with the song "Moja štikla". The song was described as a turbo-folk song with humorous lyrics and Balkan folk motifs. The lyrics were written by Severina, the music by Boris Novković and Franjo Valentić, and arrangement by popular Bosnian-born musician Goran Bregović. Severina was chosen using the Dora competition in the seaside resort of Opatija, the place where the first Dora was held.

Croatia participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2005 with the song "Vukovi umiru sami" written by Franjo Valentić and Boris Novković. The song was performed by Boris Novković and Lado Members. Croatian broadcaster Croatian Radiotelevision (HRT) organised the national final Dora 2005 in order to select the Croatian entry for the 2005 contest in Kyiv, Ukraine. The national final consisted of three rounds: a quarter-final between 7 and 25 February 2005, two semi-finals on 12 and 13 March 2004 and a final on 14 March 2004. Twenty songs competed in the quarter-final and the top eighteen qualified to the semi-finals. Nine songs competed in each semi-final and the top seven qualified to the fourteen-song final. In the final, the combination of votes from a seven-member jury panel and a public televote selected "Vukovi umiru sami" performed by Boris Novković feat. Lado Members as the winner.

Croatia participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2004 with the song "You Are the Only One" written by Ivan Mikulić, Vedran Ostojić and Duško Gruborović. The song was performed by Ivan Mikulić. Croatian broadcaster Croatian Radiotelevision (HRT) organised the national final Dora 2004 in order to select the Croatian entry for the 2004 contest in Istanbul, Turkey. The national final consisted of three shows: two semi-finals on 12 and 13 March 2004 and a final on 14 March 2004. Twelve songs competed in each semi-final and the top six as determined by a regional televote and SMS vote qualified to the twelve-song final. In the final, regional televoting and SMS voting selected "Daješ mi krila" performed by Ivan Mikulić as the winner. The song was later translated from Croatian to English for the Eurovision Song Contest and was titled "You Are the Only One".

Dragonfly feat. Dado Topić represented Croatia with the song "Vjerujem u ljubav" in the Eurovision Song Contest 2007.

Croatia participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2002 with the song "Everything I Want" written by Milana Vlaović. The song was performed by Vesna Pisarović. Croatian broadcaster Croatian Radiotelevision (HRT) organised the national final Dora 2002 in order to select the Croatian entry for the 2002 contest in Tallinn, Estonia. The national final took place on 10 March 2002. Twenty songs competed and a combination of votes from five regional juries, an expert jury, regional televoting and internet voting selected "Sasvim sigurna" performed by Vesna Pisarović as the winner. The song was later translated from Croatian to English for the Eurovision Song Contest and was titled "Everything I Want".

Croatia was represented by Kraljevi ulice and 75 Cents in the Eurovision Song Contest 2008 with the song "Romanca".

Croatia were represented at the Eurovision Song Contest 2009, held in Moscow, Russia, by Igor Cukrov feat. Andrea Šušnjara with the song "Lijepa Tena" after winning the Croatian national final, Dora 2009.

Croatia was represented at the Eurovision Song Contest 1997 by E.N.I. with the song "Probudi me". The quartet were the winners of Dora 1997, which selected the fifth Croatian entry for the contest.

Croatia selected its entry for the Eurovision Song Contest 2010 through the Dora contest, which was held on 5 and 6 March 2010, organised by the Croatian national broadcaster Hrvatska radiotelevizija (HRT). The winner of Dora was the girl group Feminnem with "Lako je sve".

Croatia originally planned to participate in the Eurovision Song Contest 2020. The Croatian broadcaster Hrvatska radiotelevizija (HRT) used the national selection Dora 2020 to decide their representative. However, due to 2020 coronavirus pandemic, the contest was cancelled.
