Cymatosira is a genus of diatoms in the family Cymatosiraceae. It is the type genus of its family.
Amelanchier, also known as shadbush, shadwood or shadblow, serviceberry or sarvisberry, juneberry, saskatoon, sugarplum, wild-plum or chuckley pear, is a genus of about 20 species of deciduous-leaved shrubs and small trees in the rose family (Rosaceae).
Terebra is a genus of small to large-sized predatory sea snails, marine gastropod molluscs in the subfamily Terebrinae of the family Terebridae, the auger snails.
Somatochlora sahlbergi, the treeline emerald, is a species of dragonfly in the family Corduliidae. It is found at high latitudes across northern Eurasia and North America, and occurs farther north than any other dragonfly.
Chaetoceros is a genus of diatoms in the family Chaetocerotaceae, first described by the German naturalist C. G. Ehrenberg in 1844. Species of this genus are mostly found in marine habitats, but a few species exist in freshwater. It is arguably the common and most diverse genus of marine planktonic diatoms, with over 200 accepted species. It is the type genus of its family.
Acteon is a genus of small sea snails, predatory marine gastropod mollusks in the family Acteonidae, the barrel bubble snails.
Thielavia is a genus of fungi in the family Chaetomiaceae. Circumscribed by German botanist Friedrich Wilhelm Zopf in 1876, Thielavia is a teleomorph of Myceliophthora. Collectively, the genus is widely distributed, and according to a 2008 estimate, contained 31 species. Thielavia heterothallica and T. terrestris can cause infections in humans.
Odontella is a genus of marine diatoms. It contains the following species:
Amphora is a major genus of marine and freshwater diatoms. With over 1000 species, it is one of the largest genera of diatoms. These diatoms are recognized by their strongly dorsiventral frustules, which means that their ridges lie close to the ventral margin of the valve, and their girdle is much wider on the dorsal side.
Favartia is a genus of sea snails, marine gastropod mollusks in the family Muricidae, the murex snails or rock snails. It is known for its crystalline shell.
Cytherella is a genus of seed shrimp in the family Cytherellidae.
Diploneis is a genus of diatoms belonging to the family Diploneidaceae.
Gomphonema is a genus of diatoms belonging to the family Gomphonemataceae.
Lithodesmium is a genus of diatoms belonging to the family Lithodesmiaceae.
Melosira is a genus of diatoms belonging to the family Melosiraceae.
Stauroneis is a genus of diatoms (Bacillariophyta) with species that occur in fresh and marine water.
