Norman Quentin Cook, also known by his stage name Fatboy Slim, is an English musician, DJ and record producer who helped to popularise the big beat genre in the 1990s. In the 1980s, Cook was the bassist for the Hull-based indie rock band the Housemartins, who achieved a UK number-one single with their a cappella cover of "Caravan of Love". After the Housemartins split, Cook formed the electronic band Beats International in Brighton, who produced the number-one single "Dub Be Good to Me". He then played in Freak Power, Pizzaman, and the Mighty Dub Katz with moderate success.

Echo Image is a Norwegian synthpop band from Fredrikstad. The band started in the summer of 1997 when Pål Magnus Rybom and Jon-Ivar Berg started experimenting with electronic music. That summer the two of them recorded a demo. Berg left the group after they failed attract the attention of record labels and went to focus on his music project Biozide. Later that year Fredrik Hansen joined and Echo Image was officially formed with Trine Bilet joining towards the end of the year providing backing vocals, keyboards, and synthesizers.

Published by Konami and developed by Hudson Soft on December 4, 2007, Universe 2 is a sequel to Dance Dance Revolution Universe released earlier the same year. Universe 2 features a large soundtrack with songs ranging from the 1970s to today, new modes of gameplay designed for newcomers including Freestyle Mode which allows players to dance without needing to step on any arrows, Quest Mode where players build a dancing character and travel from location to location in a virtual world facing off against other dancers, and downloadable content through the Xbox Live service. The game was released in Europe with a different set of songs as Dancing Stage Universe 2.

The Music of Dance Dance Revolution X is a collection of tracks that are playable on Dance Dance Revolution X, a music video game first released in Japan by Konami on December 24, 2008, then later in Europe on June 3, 2009 and North America on June 9, 2009. The soundtracks for the different releases are primarily dance, hip hop, and synthpop based with additional tracks covering multiple other genres.

"Eat, Sleep, Rave, Repeat" is a song by Fatboy Slim, Riva Starr and Beardyman. It features vocals from Beardyman who improvised all of the lyrics and vocals in one take. It was released on 20 June 2013. Aided by a remix by Calvin Harris, the song reached number 3 on the UK Singles Chart, becoming Fatboy Slim's first top ten hit since "Star 69" / "Weapon of Choice" in 2001. A remix by Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike and Ummet Ozcan was released on 23 December 2013.
