Dancing with the Stars returned for a seventh series on 7 January 2024 on RTÉ One.

On 29 August 2023, RTÉ confirmed that the show would return for a seventh season with hosts, Jennifer Zamparelli and Doireann Garrihy returning for their fifth and second seasons, respectively. [1]

On 5 September 2023, professional dancer, and reigning champion, Emily Barker announced her departure from the show. [2] On 31 October 2023, Maurizio Benenato confirmed that he, too, would not return having left the show two weeks into the previous season for personal reasons. [3] On 12 November 2023, after six seasons, John Nolan became the third professional dancer to announce their decision to leave the programme. [4] On 17 October 2023, it was reported that Irish dancers, Jillian Bromwich and Montel Hewson would join the professional line-up. [5] On 28 November 2023, the professional line-up was confirmed with Bromwich and Hewson officially announced as joining the cast alongside former Dancing with the Stars Belgium champion professional dancer, Simone Arena. The announcement also confirmed that Michael Danilczuk and Hannah Kelly would not return to the cast. [6]

The final on 17 March 2024, was won by Jason Smyth alongside partner Karen Byrne. [7] [8]

Couples

On 1 December 2023, the first five celebrities taking part, Blu Hydrangea, David Whelan, Eileen Dunne, Miriam Mullins and Rosanna Davison, were revealed by Patrick Kielty on The Late Late Show. There was no elimination in Week 6. The judges still scored and the public still voted. However, in a twist, the couple who received the highest combined points was immune from the following week's first Dance-Off, therefore securing their place in the competition until Week 8. Stephen Vincent is an English dancer and choreographer. He is a former UK Latin Champion.

The thirtieth season of Dancing with the Stars premiered on ABC on September 20, 2021 and streamed on Hulu and concluded on November 22, 2021. This was the final season to air on ABC before the series moved to Disney+ in 2022.

Dancing with the Stars returned for a fifth series on 9 January 2022 on RTÉ One. This was the first series in two years after the show was put on a year-long hiatus during the COVID-19 pandemic.

<i>Dancing with the Stars</i> (American TV series) season 31 Season of television series

The thirty-first season of Dancing with the Stars premiered on Disney+ on September 19, 2022 and is streaming only on Disney+ and concluded on November 21, 2022. This season marked the first live competition show to air on the streaming platform and the first season to not air on ABC. Tyra Banks returned as host, while season 19 champion Alfonso Ribeiro joined as co-host.

The eighth season of Dancing with the Stars premiered on Top Channel on 7 October 2022, almost four years since it last aired on Vizion Plus. The host of this season was Bora Zemani, with Eno Popi joining as co-host.

Dancing with the Stars returned for a sixth series on 8 January 2023 on RTÉ One.
