David Luca Durante (born June 26, 1980) is a retired American artistic gymnast. He was a member of the United States men's national artistic gymnastics team and was one of the three alternates to the 2008 Summer Olympics. He competed at the 2007 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships and was a member of the 4th-place-finishing American team. He was the 2007 U.S. All-Around champion.
Raised in Garwood, New Jersey, Durante attended Arthur L. Johnson High School in Clark, New Jersey, before graduating from Stanford University in 2002 with a major in human biology and a minor in psychology. [1]
Durante holds dual American-Italian citizenship.
Artistic gymnastics is a discipline of gymnastics in which athletes perform short routines on different types of apparatus. The sport is governed by the Fédération Internationale de Gymnastique (FIG), which assigns the Code of Points used to score performances and regulates all aspects of elite international competition. Within individual countries, gymnastics is regulated by national federations such as British Gymnastics and USA Gymnastics. Artistic gymnastics is a popular spectator sport at many competitions, including the Summer Olympic Games.
Kurt Bilteaux Thomas was an American Olympic gymnast and part-time actor. He was a member of the United States men's national artistic gymnastics team and in 1978 he became the first American male gymnast to win a gold medal at the World Artistic Gymnastics Championships. In 1979, he won six medals at the world championship, setting the record for most medals won at a single world championship by an American gymnast, a feat matched only by Simone Biles in 2018. He competed in the 1976 Summer Olympics in Montreal. Thomas was favored to win a medal at the 1980 Summer Olympics but was unable to compete due to the USA boycott of the 1980 Olympic Games.
Mitchell Jay Gaylord is an American gymnast, actor, and 1984 Los Angeles Olympic gold medalist in gymnastics. He was a member of the United States men's national artistic gymnastics team.
Arthur L. Johnson High School is a four-year public high school that serves students in ninth through twelfth grades from Clark and Garwood in Union County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey, operating as the lone secondary school of the Clark Public School District. The school has been accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Elementary and Secondary Schools since 1963 and is accredited until January 2030.
Alexander Vladimirovich Artemev is a retired American artistic gymnast. Artemev was a member of the United States men's national artistic gymnastics team and won an Olympic bronze medal at the 2008 Summer Olympics. He is the 2006 all-around U.S. national champion. Known for his ability on the pommel horse, he was the 2007 and 2008 U.S. national champion on the pommel horse and won the bronze medal in the event at the 2006 World Championships.
George Julius Gulack was an American gymnast and Olympic champion and was involved in gymnastics administration for both the American Athletic Union and the Olympic Committee. He was a member of the United States men's national artistic gymnastics team and competed at the 1932 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles where he received a gold medal on the rings.
Kai-Wen "Kevin" Tan is an American artistic gymnast. He is a former member of the United States men's national artistic gymnastics team and won an Olympic bronze medal at the 2008 Summer Olympics.
Jonathan Alan Horton is a former American artistic gymnast. He was a member of the United States men's national artistic gymnastics team and is the 2008 Olympic silver medalist on high bar, the 2010 World all-around bronze medalist, a two-time Olympian, a two-time U.S. National All-Around Champion, and a 17-time medalist at the U.S. National Championships. At the 2008 Olympics, he also won a bronze medal with his U.S. teammates in the team competition. He also competed at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, where he qualified for the high bar event final and finished in sixth place. In 2016, he had surgery on his left rotator cuff and as a result was unable to qualify for the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.
Gregor Richard Weiss is an American artistic gymnast. He was a member of the United States men's national artistic gymnastics team and represented the United States at the 1964 Summer Olympics, placing 7th in the team event and 59th in the individual all-around. He was a member of the U.S. team at the 1966 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships. In the NCAA, he competed for Penn State University and was the NCAA all-around champion in 1961. He was inducted into the U.S. Gymnastics Hall of Fame in 1991.

Nicknamed "Lord of the Rings", he won the bronze medal at the 2013 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships, a gold medal at the 2011 Pan American Games, and a silver medal at the 2014 Pan American Gymnastics Championships in addition to his 4 titles at the USA Gymnastics National Championships on the apparatus.
