David Waisman Rjavinsthi (born 4 May 1937) is a Peruvian politician who served as the Second Vice President of Peru from 2001 to 2006. He also served as Congressman from 2000 to 2011.
Son of Natan Waisman Reines and Blima Rjavinsthi Tubac,who came to Peru as young people fleeing anti-Semitic policies that were developing in Europe. He studied primary education at the JoséGranda school and the first years of secondary school at the Hipólito Unanue school;however,he did not finish school.
He is a member of PerúPosible since 1994,and was elected as a Congressman in the 2000,2001,and 2006 elections,representing Lima. In the 2000 elections,Waisman ran as the second running mate of Alejandro Toledo,but the ticket was defeated by the ticket of Alberto Fujimori in the runoff in which,Toledo withdrew.
In 2000-01 Waisman led a Peruvian congressional investigation commission that investigated corruption and a range of illegal activities. [1]
On 28 July 2001,Waisman became Second Vice President of Peru in Alejandro Toledo's government,and served as such from 2001 to 2006. [2] When Raúl Diez Canseco resigned as First Vice President in 2004 after a scandal with his girlfriend,Waisman became the only Vice President of Peru until 2006. He was also Defense Minister during Toledo's presidency. He attained these positions in government in spite of the fact that he does not have any post-secondary studies and did not finish secondary school. He later resigned as Defense Minister in 2002.
In 2006,he was initially appointed by PerúPosible as a presidential candidate but independent Jeanette Emmanuel later replaced him as PerúPosible's candidate. With her withdrawal,Rafael Belaúnde was appointed as the new candidate,but he also withdrew. He instead ran for Congress,and was successfully re-elected as one of the only 2 congressman from PerúPosible,aside from Carlos Bruce.
He is considering running for Vice President once more in the upcoming early 2011 elections alongside Luis Castañeda,after having switched from PerúPosible due to irreconcilable differences with Toledo,to Partido Solidaridad Nacional. He lost his Congressional seat consequently.

General elections were held in Peru in on 9 April 2006 to elect the President,two Vice-Presidents,120 members of Congress and five members of the Andean Parliament for the 2006–2011 period. As the no presidential candidate received a majority of the vote,a second round was held on 4 June between the top two candidates,Ollanta Humala and Alan García. National Solidarity Party,was a conservative Peruvian political party. Founded in 1998 for the 2000 general election to support the candidacy of Luis Castañeda Lossio,a former Lima City Council member from Popular Action. Following the end of Alberto Fujimori's regime,the party formed the National Unity coalition with the Christian People's Party and other minor parties. Led by Lourdes Flores,the coalition placed third at the 2001 and 2006 general elections,while at municipal level,it won the capital city of Lima with Castañeda as the mayoral nominee.
Ángel Javier Velásquez Quesquén is a Peruvian lawyer and politician. A prominent member of the Peruvian Aprista Party,he has served in Congress between 2001 and 2019,previously serving from 1995 to 2000. In Alan García's second presidency,Velásquez was sworn as the third Prime Minister of Peru of the administration,succeeding Yehude Simon in 2009. He resigned his post in 2010 with the intention to run for the Peruvian Aprista Party presidential nomination later that year. Although not selected as the nominee,he was part of the presidential ticket of Mercedes Aráoz in which he was the candidate for First Vice President until her withdrawal from the election in January 2011. JoséAlejandro Vega Antonio is a Peruvian politician and a Congressman representing Lima since 2020. He was previously congressman for the 2006-2011 term representing Lima. He was First Vice President of the Congress between 2006 and 2007 under the leadership of Mercedes Cabanillas. In the 2020 snap parliamentary election,after a nine-year absence,he was once again elected as Congressman representing the same constituency to complete the 2016-2021 term that was interrupted following to the dissolution of the Congress. Vega belongs to the Union for Peru party in which,he is the party's Secretary General. He is running for President in the 2021 elections.

Luis María Santiago Eduardo Solari de la Fuente is a Peruvian politician of Italian descent and a founding member of Possible Peru. He has served as Health Minister and studied internal medicine at the National University of San Marcos. He gained notice in his work for Catholic Church in Peru and received the title commander from the Holy See in 1997. He also belongs to Sodalicio de Vida Cristiana. This relates to his time as Health Minister in that he opposed abortion and introduced a Day of the Unborn. He is also a former Prime Minister of Peru. He would later switch to the National Solidarity Party.
Luis Carlos Antonio Iberico Núnez is an Argentine-born Peruvian journalist and politician. Throughout his journalistic career,he served in various news stations during the 1980s and 1990s. He gained prominence for his fight against the Alberto Fujimori administration,denouncing several allegations of corruption involving the press. Alongside Fernando Olivera,he presented the first "Vladi-videos" that would prove the major corruption operations headed by Intelligence Chief Vladimiro Montesinos. His role in Fujimori's downfall would gain him support in a career in politics.
