Cenaida Cebastiana Uribe Medina (born 2 December 1965, in Lima), more commonly known as Cenaida Uribe, is a Peruvian former volleyball player and politician (PNP). During her sports career, Uribe played for the national team for many years and earned a silver medal at the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul. [1] She also helped the Peruvian team win the bronze medal at the 1986 FIVB World Championship in Czechoslovakia. [1]
In 2006, Uribe ran for Congresswoman on the list of the Union for Peru, which also promoted the candidates of her Peruvian Nationalist Party. [2] She was elected, representing the constituency of Lima for the 2006–2011 term. [2] She was reelected for the 2011–2016 term, this time on the successful Nationalist-dominated Peru Wins list. [3]
The Peru national football team, nicknamed La Bicolor, represents Peru in men's international football. The national team has been organised, since 1927, by the Peruvian Football Federation (FPF). The FPF constitutes one of the ten members of FIFA's South American Football Confederation (CONMEBOL). Peru has won the Copa América twice, and has qualified for the FIFA World Cup five times ; the team also participated in the 1936 Olympic football competition and has reached the semi-finals of the CONCACAF Gold Cup. The team plays most of its home matches at the Estadio Nacional in Lima, the country's capital.
Gabriela "Gaby" Lourdes Pérez del Solar Cuculiza is a Peruvian former volleyball player and two-time Olympian. Following her sports career, she entered politics and served as a Congresswoman of the Christian People's Party.
Cecilia Roxana Tait Villacorta, more commonly known as Cecilia Tait, is a Peruvian politician and retired volleyball player. She was a key player in the rise of the Peruvian women's national volleyball team in the 1980s.
Denisse Fajardo García, more commonly known as Denisse Fajardo, is a Peruvian former volleyball player and a three-time Olympian for her native country. Fajardo won the silver medal at the 1988 Olympic Games in Seoul, after playing the Soviet Union in the final. She also competed at the 1984 Olympic Games in Los Angeles, where Peru reached the semi-finals and lost to the United States, and finally finished in fourth place.
Leyla Felícita Chihuán Ramos is a Peruvian politician and former volleyball player of Afro-Peruvian descent, who twice represented her native country at the Summer Olympics. In 2011, she entered politics, serving as a Congresswoman until the dissolution of Congress in September 2019.
Milagros Alicia Moy Alvarado, more commonly known as Milagros Moy, is a Peruvian former volleyball player who represented her native country at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta and the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney, finishing in eleventh place in both tournaments. She played as a wing spiker.
Regla Torres Herrera, more commonly known as Regla Torres, is a Cuban former volleyball player who won three Olympic gold medals with the Cuban women's national volleyball team. Torres began playing on the international circuit at the age of 14. As a middle blocker, she was a key player in the dominance of the Cuban national team of the 1990s.
Magalys Carvajal Rivera, more commonly known as Magaly Carvajal, is a retired Cuban volleyball player and two-time Olympian. As a middle blocker, she led Cuba to gold medals in the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona and 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta.
Rosa Gisella García Rivas, more commonly known as Rosa García, is a retired women's volleyball player from Peru who is a four-time Olympian. García was on the Peruvian national team that finished fourth at the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles, and was a silver medalist at the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul. She also was a member of the Peruvian team that won the silver medal in the 1982 FIVB World Championship in Peru. She was a setter.
Gina Torrealva is a former volleyball player from Peru and two-time Olympian. Torrealva finished fourth at the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles and won the silver medal at the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul. She was a member of the Peruvian team that won the silver medal at the 1982 FIVB World Championship in Peru, and the bronze medal at the 1986 FIVB World Championship in Czechoslovakia. She was an outside hitter.
Cándida Estefany Arias Pérez is a volleyball player from the Dominican Republic, who won the bronze medal with her native country at the 2008 NORCECA Girls' U18 Volleyball Continental Championship in Guaynabo, Puerto Rico wearing the number 15 jersey.

Luisa Estela Fuentes Quijandría, more commonly known as Lucha Fuentes, is a retired volleyball player from Peru who played with the Peruvian women's national volleyball team in the 1968 and 1976 Summer Olympics. As the captain of the Peruvian team, she was nicknamed "La Gran Capitana".

She won gold medals in the 20 kilometres walk and 35 km walk at the 2022 World Athletics Championships, becoming the first ever Peruvian world medallist and the first Latin American to earn two titles at the same World Athletics Championships. She competed in the women's 61 kg event.
