Deformers is a multiplayer brawler game developed by Ready at Dawn and published by GameTrust.
Deformers is a multiplayer brawler game played from a third-person perspective. [1] Players take control of squishy ball-shaped creatures called a Forms that are capable of rolling, jumping, dashing, and absorbing items. [2] [3] In the deathmatch and team deathmatch modes, the goal is to roll around and knock opponents off the arena platform. [2] Form-ball is a mode that plays like association football, a ball must be knocked into a net to score goals. [2] The game supports online 2, 3, and 4-player splitscreen as well as online multiplayer with up to eight players. [3]
Deformers was developed by video game studio Ready at Dawn. [3] The project began as a physics technology demonstration. [3] A duo at the studio began working on prototype for Deformers in August 2014 while most employees were occupied with The Order: 1886 . [3]
It was announced that Deformers would shut down on 9 August 2018. [4]
Deformers was initially scheduled to launch for Windows, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on February 14, 2017, [5] however it was delayed so that the development team could address issues from feedback they had received. [6] An open beta of the Windows version ran from April 1–4 on digital distribution service Steam. [2] [7] Deformers was the second game published by GameStop's publishing program GameTrust. Quake 4 is a 2005 military science fiction first-person shooter video game developed by Raven Software and published by Activision. Serious Sam: The Second Encounter is a 2002 first-person shooter game developed by Croteam and published by Gathering of Developers. It is the successor to Serious Sam: The First Encounter and the second game in the Serious Sam series. Taking place immediately after The First Encounter, it follows the soldier Sam "Serious" Stone, whose spaceship crashes back to Earth on his way from ancient Egypt to Sirius, requiring him to seek the Holy Grail to continue his journey. As Sam, the player traverses linear levels, either enclosed or set on open plains, and battles increasingly large waves of enemies with an expanding arsenal. Ready at Dawn Studios LLC (RAD) is an American video game developer located in Irvine, California, and is composed of former members of Naughty Dog and Blizzard Entertainment. Formed in 2003, the company has primarily worked on games for the PlayStation Portable (PSP), most notably the Sony Computer Entertainment intellectual property God of War and Daxter. Ready at Dawn has a satellite campus in Portland, Oregon to assist with future PC and console game development. The studio is part of Oculus Studios as of June 2020.
Half-Life 2: Deathmatch is a multiplayer first-person shooter video game developed by Valve. Released on Steam on November 30, 2004, it uses many of the assets from Half-Life 2 and its Source engine. It features new levels, optimized for multiplayer arena play, and a few new weapons. Also included are portions of the game's source code, which were the basis for many early Source-based multiplayer modifications. The game is the successor to the popular multiplayer component of the original Half-Life, but is offered as a separate product from Half-Life 2. Deathmatch, like Half-Life's multiplayer, does not develop any part of the plot or story of the Half-Life series.
Southend Interactive was a game development studio based in Malmö, Sweden and founded in 1998. Southend worked on game productions from various genres that run from various clients, such as Ubisoft and Sierra Online. Section 8: Prejudice is a science fiction, first-person shooter video game developed by TimeGate Studios. It is the direct sequel to the 2009 game Section 8. Unlike its predecessor, Prejudice is a digital download-only title that contains more content than the previous game. It was released for Xbox 360 on April 20, 2011, for Microsoft Windows May 4, 2011, and for PlayStation 3 in North America on July 26, 2011, and in the PAL region on August 3, 2011
Bloober Team S.A. is a Polish video game developer based in Kraków. Founded in November 2008 by Peter Babieno and Peter Bielatowicz, the company is best known for developing Layers of Fear (2016), Observer (2017), Blair Witch (2019), and The Medium (2021). In January 2018, Bloober Team received the Paszport Polityki award in the "Digital Culture" category.
Painkiller: Hell & Damnation is a first-person shooter video game, both a remake of and a sequel to Painkiller, developed by The Farm 51 and published by Nordic Games. TowerFall is an action indie video game created by Maddy Thorson through her company Maddy Makes Games. In the game, players control up to four archers in a multiplayer platform fighter. It was released on the Ouya microconsole in June 2013 and was later ported to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Linux, OS X, and Windows as TowerFall Ascension and to the Nintendo Switch under its original title of TowerFall.
Broforce is a side-scrolling run-and-gun platform video game developed by Free Lives and published by Devolver Digital. The game has the player as one of several "bros", based on popular culture action movie icons, rescuing other "bros" through highly-destructible environments.
Crawl is a brawler indie game by Australian developer Powerhoof. Up to four players and bots in local multiplayer advance through randomly generated dungeons with one player as the hero and the others as spirits who possess traps and monsters in the environment to kill and thus replace the hero. The game received a Steam Early Access release for Microsoft Windows, OS X, and Linux platforms in August 2014, and a full release for those three as well as PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in April 2017 and a release for Nintendo Switch on December 19, 2017.
Gang Beasts is a beat 'em up party game developed and published by English indie studio Boneloaf. The title would originally be published by Double Fine Presents until May 2020 and self-published afterwards, while it would later be published in physical form by Skybound Games. The game released for Windows, macOS, Linux, and PlayStation 4 on the 12th of December 2017, following an early access period for the PC platforms that began in August 2014. It was also released on the Xbox One on the 27th of March 2019. A version for Nintendo Switch was released on the 12th October 2021.
The Escapists is a strategy game played from a top-down perspective. The game was developed by Mouldy Toof Studios and following a Steam Early Access release in 2014, was released in 2015 for Microsoft Windows, macOS, Linux, Xbox 360, Xbox One and PlayStation 4. It was released on iOS and Android in 2017. A Nintendo Switch version of the game containing all downloadable content was released in 2018. The game was launched on the Epic Games Store on 23 September 2021, with the weekly free game campaign of Epic Games. Players assume the role of an inmate and must escape from prisons of increasing difficulty.
Knockout City was an action video game developed by Velan Studios. Publisher Electronic Arts released the game for Microsoft Windows, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in May 2021 under its EA Originals label. Velan Studios took over publishing duties in June 2022, and the game transitioned into a fully free-to-play title on June 1, 2022. The game has been shut down as of June 6, 2023, though a Windows version compatible with private hosted servers is available.
