The Delhi & District Cricket Association (DDCA) is the governing body of cricket activities in Delhi, India. It is affiliated to the Board of Control for Cricket in India. The Delhi cricket team is the team for Delhi & District Cricket Association in the Ranji Trophy and other domestic tournaments. The DDCA is responsible for both men's and women's teams of U14, U16, U19, U23 and seniors.
In 2024, Rohan Jaitley was re-elected as DDCA president with 1,577 votes, compared with his nearest rival, Kirti Azad, who got 777 votes. [1]
In 2015-16, BJP MP Kirti Azad and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal have alleged corruption in DDCA against Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley. [2] [3] [4] [5] [6] On 16 November 2019, Rajat Sharma, president DDCA resigned alleging irregularities after a tentur of nearly 20 months. [7] [8]
Arun Jaitley was an Indian politician and attorney. A member of the Bharatiya Janata Party, Jaitley served as the Minister of Finance and Corporate Affairs of the Government of India from 2014 to 2019. Jaitley previously held the cabinet portfolios of Finance, Defence, Corporate Affairs, Commerce and Industry, and Law and Justice in the Vajpayee government and Narendra Modi government.
The Arun Jaitley Stadium is a cricket stadium owned and operated by the Delhi & District Cricket Association (DDCA) and located on Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg, New Delhi. It was established in 1883 as the Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium, and named after the nearby Kotla fort. It is the second-oldest functional international cricket stadium in India, after the Eden Gardens of Kolkata. As of 25 October 2019, it has hosted 36 Tests, 29 ODIs and 6 T20I.
The Delhi cricket team is a first-class cricket team based in Delhi, run by the Delhi & District Cricket Association, that plays in India's first class competition, the Ranji Trophy, limited-overs Vijay Hazare Trophy and Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.
