The Delhi & District Cricket Association (DDCA) is the governing body of cricket activities in Delhi, India. It is affiliated to the Board of Control for Cricket in India. The Delhi cricket team is the team for Delhi & District Cricket Association in the Ranji Trophy and other domestic tournaments. The DDCA is responsible for both men's and women's teams of U14, U16, U19, U23 and seniors.

Allegations

BJP MP Kirti Azad and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal have alleged corruption in DDCA against Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley. [1] [2] [3] [4] [5] On 16 November 2019 , Rajat Sharma, president DDCA resigned alleging irregularities. [6]

The Arun Jaitley Stadium is a cricket stadium owned and operated by the Delhi & District Cricket Association (DDCA) and located on Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg, New Delhi. It was established in 1883 as the Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium, and named after the nearby Kotla fort. It is the second oldest functional international cricket stadium in India, after the Eden Gardens of Kolkata. As of 25 October 2019, it has hosted 36 Tests, 29 ODIs and 6 T20I.

The Delhi cricket team is a first-class cricket team based in Delhi, run by the Delhi & District Cricket Association, that plays in India's first class competition, the Ranji Trophy, limited-overs Vijay Hazare Trophy and Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. They have won the Ranji Trophy seven times and have been runners-up eight. Their latest title in 2007-08 came after a long wait of 16 years. The previous win was in the 1991–92 season when they beat Tamil Nadu in the final. The team's home ground is Arun Jaitley Stadium.

Kirtivardhan Bhagwat Jha Azad is an Indian politician and former cricketer, who played seven Test matches and 25 One Day International for the India national cricket team between 1980 and 1986. Azad was a member of the Indian team that won the 1983 Cricket World Cup.

Manish Sisodia is an Indian politician, journalist and former social activist who served as the first Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi from 2015 to 2023. He represents the Patparganj constituency in Delhi Legislative Assembly since 2015 and had also represented the constituency from 2013 to 2014. He was in judicial custody on corruption charges in a major Delhi liquor scam between February 2023 and August 2024. He received bail from the Supreme Court of India on 9th August 2024, which according to him was a "victory for honesty and truth" even though his party leader is still in jail and he has not yet been proven innocent. He is one of the founding members of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and a member of its National Executive Committee.

Hockey India League or HIL is a professional field hockey league in India. The league is organized by Hockey India, the governing body for the sport in India. HIL, along with the Indian Premier League, Indian Super League, and Pro Kabaddi League, is considered one of the major sports leagues in the country. Government of NCT of Delhi versus Union of India & Another [C. A. No. 2357 of 2017] is a civil appeal heard before the Supreme Court of India by a five-judge constitution bench of the court. The case was filed as an appeal to an August 2016 verdict of the Delhi High Court that ruled that the lieutenant governor of Delhi exercised "complete control of all matters regarding National Capital Territory (NCT) of Delhi", and was heard by the Supreme Court in November and December 2017.

Delhi Premier League T20 is a Twenty20 franchise cricket tournament in union territories of Delhi in India. Organised by the Delhi & District Cricket Association (DDCA), it was first contested during the 2024 season.
