Deneside is an area in Seaham, County Durham, in England. It is situated to the west of Seaham.
Seaham is a seaside town in County Durham, England. Located on the Durham Coast, Seaham is situated 6 miles south of Sunderland and 13 miles (21 km) east of Durham. The town grew from the late 19th century onwards as a result of investments in its harbour and coal mines. The town is twinned with the German town of Gerlingen.

Seaham High School is a coeducational secondary school located in Seaham, County Durham, England, for pupils aged 11–16. It is the only secondary school in the area, acting as a hub for most year 6 children leaving the local primary schools. The school is part of the Eden Learning Trust.
Seaham Hall Dene railway station was a private railway station that served Seaham Hall, the then a home of the Marquess of Londonderry close to the town of Seaham, County Durham, England from 1875 to 1925 on the Durham Coast Line.
Seaham Harbour railway station was a railway station that served the town of Seaham Harbour in County Durham, North East England. For much of its existence, it was the southern passenger terminus of the Londonderry, Seaham and Sunderland Railway but declined in importance after the opening of the nearby Seaham Colliery station and the extension of the line to West Hartlepool by that company's successor.
The county of Durham returned 7 MPs to the UK Parliament from 1983 to 2024. Under the 2023 review of Westminster constituencies, coming into effect for the 2024 general election, the boundary commission proposed that one constituency be shared with the county of Tyne and Wear. In addition, the unitary authority of Darlington, which had previously been included with Durham, was now included with the four unitary authorities which make up the former county of Cleveland. For the purposes of this series of articles, Darlington continues to be included with Durham.
The most spectacular social success story was Seaham Urban District Council's provision of council houses to replace the festering 19th Century slums of the central area. From 1926 onwards, when infant mortality was double the County average, the mushroom growth of the Carr House Estate (Deneside) provided hope, homes with water closets, electricity, gardens and for the first time, recreational space for thousands. Milestones in its growth included two blocks of shops, a recreation ground in 1931, the All Saints Mission Church in 1932, old people's houses (the Lawns) in 1933, Deneside Park in 1935, new Infants and Junior Schools in 1935 and 1937. 6,700 people had been rehoused in ten years; health was much improved.
