Derrick McCollum is an American politician who has been a member of the Georgia House of Representatives from the 30th district since 2022. [1]
McCollum is a U.S. Marines veteran who served in the Gulf War (Desert Storm) and is a retired firefighter. [2] [3]
McCollum attended North Gwinnett High School. He is married and has five children. [4]

It forms part of the Atlanta metropolitan area,being located about 9 miles (14 km) northeast of Atlanta city limits. In 2020,the population was 957,062,making it the second-most populous county in Georgia. Its county seat is Lawrenceville. The county is named for Button Gwinnett,one of the signatories of the Declaration of Independence.
