Dicephalospora is a genus of fungi in the family Sclerotiniaceae. [1] The genus was circumscribed by mycologist Brian Spooner in 1987. [2] These ascomycete fungi occur on rotten wood, twigs and leaf stems. [3]
Chlorociboria is the type genus of in the fungal family Chlorociboriaceae within order Helotiales. The genus includes 23 species.
Discina is a genus of ascomycete fungi related to the false morels of the genus Gyromitra. There are about 20 species in the genus. They bear dish- or cup-shaped fruit bodies. The best known member is the pig ear (D. ancilis), which is deemed edible after thorough cooking, although is viewed with suspicion given its relation to the highly toxic false morels.
The Pyronemataceae are a family of fungi in the order Pezizales. It is the largest family of the Pezizales, encompassing 75 genera and approximately 500 species. Phylogenetic analyses does not support the prior classifications of this family, and suggest that the family is not monophyletic as it is currently circumscribed.
Sowerbyella is a genus of fungi in the family Pyronemataceae. The genus has a widespread distribution, and contains 17 species found mostly in Europe and China.
Mitrulinia is a fungal genus of uncertain familial placement in the order Helotiales. Mitrulinia is a monotypic genus, containing the single species Mitrulinia ushuaiae. The genus was circumscribed in 1987 by mycologist Brian Spooner.
Torrendiella is a genus of fungi in the family Sclerotiniaceae. It was circumscribed by Jean Louis Émile Boudier and John Torrey in Bull. Soc. Mycol. France vol.27 on page 133 in 1911, with Torrendiella ciliata as the type species. Several species once placed in this genus were transferred to Hymenotorrendiella in 2014.
Unguiculariopsis is a genus of lichenicolous fungi in the family Cordieritidaceae. It has 29 species.
Hydropisphaera is a genus of fungi in the class Sordariomycetes. It consisted of 18 species in 2008, and 32 species in 2023.
Ijuhya is a genus of fungi in the class Sordariomycetes. It consisted of seven species in 2008, and 21 species in 2023.
Nectriopsis is a genus of fungi in the class Sordariomycetes. The number of species in this genus varies between sources. The Dictionary of Fungi lists only 58 species, but the Catalogue of Life includes 72 species.
Unguiculella is a genus of lichen-forming fungi in the family Cordieritidaceae. A total of 17 species fall under this genus.
Rutstroemia is a genus of fungi in the family Rutstroemiaceae. It was circumscribed by Petter Karsten in 1871.
Otidea is a genus of fungi in the family Pyronemataceae. The genus is widely distributed in northern temperate regions.
Chlorovibrissea is a genus of six or more aquatic or semi-aquatic fungi in the family Vibrisseaceae. Most species are found in Australasia but C. chilensis, described as new to science in 2014, is from South America and C. korfii is from China.
Neonectria is a genus of fungi in the family Nectriaceae.
Trichoglossum is a genus of fungi in the family Geoglossaceae. They are commonly called hairy earth tongues. The type species is Trichoglossum hirsutum.
Wenying Zhuang is a Chinese mycologist. She is known for her contributions to the study of species diversity and phylogeny of Ascomycetes.
Clonostachys is a genus of fungi in the order Hypocreales and family Bionectriaceae.
Brian Martin Spooner is an English mycologist who was head of mycology at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew.
