Dubai Maritime City (DMC) is a multipurpose maritime zone. It is a member of the DP World group of companies. [1] Maritime city was expected to be fully operational by 2012, and by January 2021 had completed 80% of the first phase's infrastructure works. [2] In February 2022 it was announced that DP World would launch a major project to develop DMC's infrastructure at a cost of Dh140 million. [1] The industrial part of Dubai Maritime City is fully operational, with a large number of business partners operating from DMC. [3] The industrial precinct is active and consists of marine services primarily dealing with ship lifts, ship repair plots, warehouses, workshops, as well as supporting retail and showrooms. [4]
The 2.27 million square metre Dubai Maritime City is divided into the Maritime Centre, the Industrial Precinct, The Academic Quarter, the Marina District, the Harbour Residence, and the Harbour Offices. The Maritime Centre District is the centrepiece of Dubai Maritime City. Created as an urban corporate park, the District comprises eight waterfront and three interior parcels organized around a central boulevard.
The Maritime Centre comprises a cluster of five high-rise towers called the Creek Towers and Plaza, Landmark Tower located at the head of the man-made peninsula, and seven plots reserved for potential developers planning to construct their own towers. The centre will also feature a 5-star business hotel and premium service apartments.
This sector is a hub for ship repair facilities, yacht charter, yacht repair and manufacturing, as well as workshop units. The precinct will be overseen by the management of Jadaf Dubai. A 1,270-meter stretch of wet berthing has been made available in this precinct, alongside 42 dry berths of various sizes. The large number of berthing spaces available here alleviates a space crunch for boats in Dubai. The area contains 19 ship repair plots and two ship lifts capable of lifting 3,000 and 6,000 tons each. [5] More than 100 workshops and warehouses complete the industrial precinct.
On October 9, 2012, Grandweld Shipyards opened its new facility in Dubai Maritime City's industrial precinct. [6] This Dubai Maritime City based company is a builder of vessels including crew boats, OSVs, tugs and high-speed vessels. [7] [8]
The Dubai Maritime City Campus is located in the middle of Dubai Maritime City. The institutions here offers a syllabus encompassing marine engineering, marine transportation, and naval science, among others. The academy has the capabilities to provide for 1,300 students. The area also contains many other buildings such as a mosque, 500-room business hotel, seafarers club, convention center, and two-story library.
The Maritime Center is the core of Dubai Maritime City. It consists of eight waterfront and three interior parcels, which will serve as an international hub for maritime businesses. Also under construction in the area is the 45-story 229 metres (751 ft) tall Landmark Tower, which will function as a 5-star business hotel upon completion. [9] Many other projects were also planned such as the Swiftship Towers, 200 metres (656 ft) IRIS Mist hotel, Kensington Krystal hotel, Senali Aquamarine apartments, the Creek Towers office center, and a currently unnamed six-star hotel. [9]
The gateway to Dubai Maritime City contains 19 development plots offered for office tower development. This zone overlooks the harbor and is the nearest precinct to the causeway linking the project to the rest of Dubai.
The district includes a group of mixed-use activity areas which cater to yacht owners and also houses restaurants, retail outlets and entertainment facilities. There are 14 plots available for construction of high-rise residential towers. [10]
Dubai Maritime City lies in a northerly direction near the creek area business district, between Port Rashid and Dubai Dry Docks. Dubai Maritime city is located at a strategic position located just 1 km from jumeirah beach road, 1.5 km from Bur Dubai, 2.5 km from Shindaga tunnel in Deira, 10 km from Dubai International Airport and 3 km from Sheikh Zayed Road. The site is connected by a causeway to the wider road network, providing access to all of Dubai's principle expressways including Sheikh Zayed Road.
When completed, Dubai Maritime City will be a mixed use development for the maritime industry, comprising industrial, commercial, residential and leisure facilities housed on a man-made peninsula by reclamation of land between Port Rashid and Dubai Dry Docks. As a peninsula development. Upon completion, it will feature the country's first National Maritime Museum and ship repair and maintenance facilities. The Dubai Maritime City Campus incorporates education, training, and research in a maritime complex accommodating over 1300 students in-training to support maritime businesses and services.
As of March 2009, the first phase of Dubai Maritime city of constructing 1000 berth marina has been completed, however construction has been halted in 2010 due to financial crises in Dubai. The entirety of the first phase of construction consisting of 96 low and high rise towers was completed in March 2012. [11] Phase 2 and 3 focus on finalizing the area and adding additional commercial towers and infrastructure. The entire project was expected to be completed by 2014. [11]
As of 1 March 2020, the Phase 1 of infrastructure developing, with cost of $38 million, is 25% complete, and it is expected to be completed by the early 2021. [12] [13]
In February 2022 Dubai Maritime City announced the launch of a Dh140 million infrastructure project to develop road, water, telecom and other facilities at the maritime hub. The new DMC infrastructure will integrate DMC with the Mina Rashid area that includes the QE2 Hotel, P&O Marinas and Marina Cubes. [14]
Dubai is the most populous city in the United Arab Emirates and the capital of the Emirate of Dubai, the most populated of the country's seven emirates. The city has a population of around 3.6 million, more than 90% of which are expatriates.
Jebel Ali is a port town 35 kilometers (22 mi) south-west of Dubai. The Jebel Ali Port is located there. Al Maktoum International Airport has been constructed just outside the port area. Jebel Ali is connected to Dubai via the UAE Exchange, Danube and Energy stations on the Dubai Metro. Among the infrastructure projects built to support the port and town is the world's largest desalination plant, the Jebel Ali Desalination Plant, providing an ample supply of freshwater.
INS Kadamba or Naval Base Karwar or Project Seabird is an Indian Navy base located near Karwar in Karnataka. The first phase of construction of the base, code-named Project Seabird, was completed in 2005 and the base was commissioned on 31 May 2005. Development of Phase II commenced in 2011. INS Kadamba is currently the third largest Indian naval base, and is expected to become the largest naval base in the eastern hemisphere after completion of expansion Phase IIB. The construction of Naval Base covers an area of 11,169 acres in Phase I.

The Cotai Strip is a strip, known mostly for its hotel-casinos in the central area of Cotai, Macau. The term was first coined by the Las Vegas Sands Corporation in reference to its construction of a strip.
The Burj Al Alam was a proposed 108-story, 510 m (1,670 ft) hyperboloid skyscraper in the Business Bay area of Dubai, United Arab Emirates, though the project's roots are in a 101-storey design called "Fortune 101" and slated for the Dubai Marina area. It was designed to resemble a crystal flower. If constructed, it would have become one of the world's tallest buildings. The tower was one of the projects of the Fortune Group, which has a number of other projects in Dubai such as the Fortune Bay and Fortune Tower.
Business Bay is a central business district under construction in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The project features numerous skyscrapers located in an area where Dubai Creek has been dredged and extended, and located immediately south of Downtown Dubai. Business Bay will have upwards of 240 buildings, comprising commercial and residential developments. The infrastructure of Business Bay has been completed in 2008, and the entire development was expected to be completed between 2012-2015. Business Bay is part of the vision of Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashed Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President, Prime Minister, Minister of Defence, and Ruler of Dubai. Business Bay will be a new 'city' within the city of Dubai and is being built as a commercial, residential and business cluster along a new extension of Dubai Creek extending from Ras Al Khor to Sheikh Zayed Road. Covering an area of 64,000,000 square feet (5,900,000 m2), it is composed of office and residential towers set in landscaped gardens with a network of roads, pathways and canals.
The government of Dubai took a decision to diversify from a trade-based, oil-reliant economy to one that is service and tourism-oriented. This has made real estate and other developments more valuable, thus resulting in a property boom from 2004 to 2006. Construction on a large scale has turned Dubai into one of the fastest-growing cities in the world. There are a number of large-scale projects which are currently under construction or are to be constructed in the future. Due to the heavy construction which is taking place in Dubai, 30,000 construction cranes, which are 25% of cranes worldwide, are operating in Dubai. Due to the burst of construction, Dubai has acquired various building-related records, which include: the world's tallest tower, the world's largest shopping mall, the world's largest fountain and the world's tallest hotel. Also under construction is Dubailand, which will be almost twice the size of the Walt Disney World Resort.
Al Jaddaf, also spelled Al Jadaf, is a locality in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE). Located in western Dubai in Bur Dubai, Al Jaddaf is bordered to the north and east by the Dubai Creek, to the south by Zabeel, and to the west by Umm Hurair 2.

Dubai Meydan City is a new development under construction in the Ras Al Khor area of Dubai, UAE. The project was launched on the eve of the 2007 Dubai World Cup. The entire development will cover more than 40,000,000 square feet (3,700,000 m2) GFA on a land size of around 15,000,000 square feet (1,400,000 m2). Meydan city is expected to be completed in 2020, while Meydan Racecourse officially opened on 27 March 2010. The development includes hotels, sky-bubble restaurant, entertainment, clubs, a concourse plaza, IMAX movie theater, towers and a boat-house.
The Dubai Tram is a tramway located in Al Sufouh, Dubai, United Arab Emirates. It runs for 14.5 kilometers (9.0 mi) along Al Sufouh Road from Dubai Marina to the Palm Jumeirah and Al Sufouh. The tram connects with the DMCC and Sobha Realty stations of the Dubai Metro's Red Line, and two more stations are expected to connect with the tram in the future. The Dubai Tram is also connected with the monorail of the Palm Jumeirah at the entrance of the Palm from Sufouh Road.
The Kattupalli Shipyard, officially Adani Katupalli Port Private Limited, is a large shipyard project at Kattupalli village near Ennore in Chennai, being built by L&T Shipbuilding Ltd. It is being set up jointly by TIDCO and Larsen & Toubro (L&T) in two phases. L&T shipbuilding Kattupalli is a minor port. Adani ports and special economic zone (APSEZ) acquired Kattupalli Port from L&T in June 2018 and renamed it as Adani Katupalli Port Private Limited (AKPPL).
The Digital Media City Landmark Building or DMC Landmark Building, also known as Seoul Lite or Light Tower, was a 133-floor, 640 m (2,100 ft) supertall skyscraper proposed for construction in Digital Media City, Seoul, South Korea. It was slated to become the third-tallest building in the world when completed, after Burj Khalifa and Pingan International Finance Centre. It would have been the tallest building in Korea. Construction broke ground on 16 October 2009, and was scheduled to be completed and ready for occupancy by April 2015. It was to be built with the country's own capital and technology at an estimated cost of 3.3 trillion won.

DAMAC Properties is an Emirati property development company, based in Dubai, in the United Arab Emirates. Founded by Hussain Sajwani, it was listed on the Dubai Financial Market in early 2015. The company was delisted in 2022 after it was taken private again; Sajwani, who retained 72% of all shares, purchased the remaining shares for 2.19 billion AED. The company operates internationally.

Meraas is a holding company privately held and headquartered in Dubai with operations and assets in the United Arab Emirates. In 2020, Meraas become a subsidiary of Dubai Holding, following a directive from Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Ruler of Dubai.
