Dylan Bachelet (born 2004) [1] is a British pastry chef.

Early life and education

Bachelet was born in 2004, [1] and grew up in Milton Keynes; his mother is of Gujarati Indian descent, and was involved in fashion; his father is Japanese–Belgian. [2] [3] Bachelet attended Sir Henry Floyd Grammar School. [4] He achieved four A*s at A-level and started a degree in biomedical engineering before dropping out to pursue a culinary career. Career

Bachelet trained at Raymond Blanc's two Michelin-starred restaurant, Le Manoir, in Oxfordshire. [5] but continued to support himself through other work (e.g., as a "retail assistant" or "retail temp"). [1] [2] He then applied to and competed in the fifteenth series of The Great British Bake Off, at age 20, at the end of November 2024, and finished as a runner-up, behind Welsh series winner, Georgie Grasso. [5] [6] [7] In the month following, the MP for Aylesbury, England, Laura Kyrke-Smith, offered congratulations to Bachelet in a question to the Leader of the House of Commons, MP Lucy Powell.
