E.Y.C. (also known as Express Yourself Clearly) was an American pop/R&B group. Its members were Damon Butler, Dave Loeffler and Trey Parker. [1] [2]
E.Y.C. formed to find success in their home country, but became more popular in the United Kingdom and Australia. As the band were forming, Parker was playing Kid Blink [3] [4] in the Disney movie Newsies . Parker and Butler first met as backing dancers on New Kids on the Block's Hangin' Tough Tour. [5] [6] [7] At the 1993 Smash Hits Poll Winners Party, [8] the trio were the first group to win the Best Roadshow Act award; the award would launch the careers of Boyzone, Backstreet Boys and many more in the following years. The band also toured with Whitney Houston [9] during The Bodyguard World Tour and Prince. [10]
They scored six top 40 hits in the UK Singles Chart before disbanding. [11] Their first single, "Feelin' Alright", sold over 60,000 copies in the UK [9] and peaked at number 16 on the UK Singles Chart. [11] E.Y.C.'s debut album, Express Yourself Clearly , peaked at number 14 on the UK Albums Chart. [11]
The band sold over 500,000 records outside the US. [12] In Australia, the band also won an ARIA Award for Best New International Act. [13] [14] [15] [16] [17] [18] [19] They also starred in a Dr Pepper commercial in the US. [12] [20]
On World AIDS Day 1994, the band also performed in front of Princess Diana and George Michael at London's Wembley Arena for the Concert of Hope, a concert held by The Royal Trust of The Princess of Wales to benefit AIDS charities. [21]
They also appeared on the Childliners single "The Gift of Christmas", alongside acts such as Backstreet Boys, Boyzone, MN8, Sean Maguire, Deuce, Ultimate Kaos, Let Loose, East 17, Peter Andre, Michelle Gayle, and Dannii Minogue.
After a short break, the band got back together and signed an independent deal with Red Ant Records, after which they released the US-only album I Feel It and the singles "This Thing Called Love" and "Only a Dream". [22] [23] The band performed on Nickelodeon's All That Music & More Festivals [24] [25] and support slots on the Backstreet Boys' Into the Millennium Tour, [26] [27] with appearances on Donny & Marie as part of the release.
Since E.Y.C. disbanded, Parker has been touring with LA Allstars, [28] while Butler has performed as Limp Wristed. [29] Parker and Butler also co-wrote Anastacia's 2002 single "Why'd You Lie to Me". Stabbing Westward is an American industrial rock/alternative rock band. Christopher Hall and Walter Flakus formed the band in 1985 in Macomb, Illinois. The band released an extended play in 1992, followed by four studio albums: Ungod (1994), Wither Blister Burn & Peel (1996), Darkest Days (1998), and Stabbing Westward (2001). The band announced a dissolution in February 2002. Two compilation albums were later released in 2003. Stabbing Westward reunited in 2016 to celebrate the 30th anniversary of its formation and continued to perform live shows. The band's first new album in 21 years, Chasing Ghosts, was released in 2022.
Chevelle is an American rock band formed in Grayslake, Illinois, in 1995. The band was originally composed of two brothers, Pete Loeffler and Sam Loeffler, along with Matt Scott. Scott was replaced by Sam and Pete's brother, Joe Loeffler, in 1996. When Joe left the band in 2005, Geno Lenardo subbed in as the touring bassist until he was replaced by Pete and Sam's brother-in-law, Dean Bernardini. Bernardini departed from the band in 2019, and in 2021, Kemble Walters joined the band as a touring bassist.
The Smithereens are an American rock band from Carteret, New Jersey. The group formed in 1980 with members Pat DiNizio, Jim Babjak, Mike Mesaros, and Dennis Diken. This original lineup continued until 2006, when Mesaros left the band and Severo Jornacion took over on bass guitar until Mesaros' return in 2016. After DiNizio died in 2017, the band continued performing live shows as a trio with various guest vocalists.

A related television special, "A Very Backstreet Holiday," was pulled from airing and streaming debuts after sexual assault allegations against Nick Carter, who has since filed a defamation lawsuit for $2.5 million dollars.
