East London Coast Nature Reserve is a protected area in Eastern Cape Province, South Africa that is managed by Eastern Cape Parks. [1] It covers an area of 3,424 hectares and incorporates 12 smaller nature reserves and protected areas. [2]
The main reasons for its existence are the preservation of the region's biodiversity, protection of natural vegetation and management of extraterrestrial vegetation. [3]
The nature reserve is built up from various disconnected smaller parks, and has a total area of 3,424 hectares. It extends from the Great Kei River in the east to the Tyolomnqa River (Chalumna) in the west, along about 250 km of coastline. [4] The parks are the following:

Port Edward is a small resort town situated on the south coast of KwaZulu-Natal in South Africa. It lies north of the Mtanvuma Gorge which includes the Mtamvuma River and is the border between KwaZulu-Natal and the Eastern Cape. It is situated on the R61 road between Port Shepstone and Lusikisiki.

The reserve stretches from the Kwelera River on the eastern side, to the Gqunube River at the western end of the reserve.
The Kwelera National Botanical Garden is located at the Kwelera Nature Reserve on the Wild Coast of the Eastern Cape. It is the 10th national botanical garden established in South Africa and the first in the Eastern Cape.
The Gulu Nature Reserve, part of the greater East London Coast Nature Reserve, is a coastal forest reserve in the Wild Coast region of the Eastern Cape. The reserve lies between the Gxulu River estuary, located on its western side, and the Igoda River estuary on the eastern side.
