Eaton Square Nursery Schools

Eaton Square Nursery schools are located across four sites in Belgravia, Knightsbridge, Pimlico and Eccleston Square. [1]

Eaton Square Senior School

Eaton Square Mayfair is a private co-educational secondary day school for children aged 11–16 in London's Mayfair district, based at 106 Piccadilly, a Grade I-listed townhouse, which opened in September 2017. [2] [3] [4] [5]

106 Piccadilly was designed in 1761 by Robert Adam as the London residence of George Coventry, 6th Earl of Coventry, and was home to the St James's Club for more than a century. [2]

The school is owned by Minerva Education, an independent school provider, which is owned in turn by a private equity firm run by former JP Morgan banker Philip Rattle. [2] In 2017, fees were £22,500 a year. [2]

The St James's Club was a London gentlemen's club which operated between 1857 and 1978. It was founded by two leading diplomats and its members continued to be largely diplomats and authors. It was first established in Charles Street and moved to 106 Piccadilly by 1868. In the final quarter of the twentieth century many gentlemen’s clubs of London suffered from declining membership, and in 1978 the St James's Club merged with Brooks's Club and vacated its premises.

It is the second largest private education business in the UK. The group was acquired by Sovereign Capital in 2002 and sold to DV4 Limited, advised by investment group Delancey in December 2007. The chairman of governors is Sir John Ritblat, British Land's former chairman and major Conservative Party donor. The group has been loss making since 2016 and suffered losses of £26.4 million during the 2019/20 financial year and obtained a £2.5 million bridging loan from the parent company on 17 December 2020 that was repaid on 8 January 2021. Alpha Plus has 4,187 pupils and students in 2020 down from 4,289 in 2016.

The Eaton House Group of Schools is a group of private schools, all situated in London. It is composed of the Eaton House the Manor Nursery, Eaton House the Manor Pre-Preparatory, Eaton House the Manor Preparatory, Eaton House the Manor Girls' School, Eaton House Belgravia Pre-Preparatory, and Eaton House Belgravia Preparatory. The group became a limited liability company, with Sovereign Capital becoming the majority shareholder, when principal Hilary Harper retired and sold the company in 2016. The schools are non-selective at ages 3 and 4. In June 2021, Eaton House Schools became part of the Dukes Education family.

Harvington Prep Schooland Nursery is an independent school in Ealing, West London. Founded in 1890 as a kindergarten called Heidelberg College, the school was renamed Harvington College during World War I. For much of its history, it operated as a private girls' school for ages three to eighteen, with boys included at nursery, and occupied three modernised Victorian houses on Castlebar Road. In 2010, Harvington School closed its senior school, focusing instead on its preparatory school. Most recently, it has been co-educational up to Year 2, with girls continuing through Year 6. In April 2022, Harvington Prep announced that it would merge with Durston House, a neighbouring boys' school, to form a single co-educational school opening in September 2023.
