The Shire of Gannawarra is a local government area in Victoria, Australia, located in the northern part of the state. It covers an area of 3,735 square kilometres (1,442 sq mi) and, in August 2021 had a population of 10,683.
North Central Victoria is a rural region in the Australian state of Victoria. The Massive Murray Paddle, formerly the Red Cross Murray Marathon or Murray Marathon, and later the YMCA Massive Murray Paddle, is an Australian 415 km, 5-day canoe/kayak flatwater race on the Murray River. One of the longest annual flatwater canoe races in the world, it starts in Yarrawonga and ends in Koondrook. The race raises funds to assist local community-driven programs.

The Electoral district of Gunbower was an electoral district of the Victorian Legislative Assembly. It was created by The Electoral Act Amendment Act 1888 taking effect at the 1889 elections. The district was bound by the County of Bendigo and the Loddon, Murray and Campaspe Rivers.
The Shire of Cohuna was a local government area on the Murray River, about 265 kilometres (165 mi) north-northwest of Melbourne, the state capital of Victoria, Australia. The shire covered an area of 494.69 square kilometres (191.0 sq mi), and existed from 1922 until 1995.
James Hiers McColl was an Australian politician. Prior to Federation in 1901, he was a member of the Victorian Legislative Assembly (1886–1900) and twice held ministerial office. He was known for his interest in agriculture, particularly new irrigation techniques. In the new federal parliament he first represented the Division of Echuca (1901–1906) in the House of Representatives and then served as a Senator for Victoria (1907–1914). He was Vice-President of the Executive Council in the Cook Government (1913–1914).

Gunbower is a town in northern Victoria, Australia. The town is located in the Shire of Campaspe, 272 kilometres (169 mi) north of the state capital, Melbourne on the banks of Gunbower Creek. At the 2016 census, Gunbower had a population of 551.

The Gunbower National Park is a national park located in the Loddon Mallee region of Victoria, Australia. The 9,330-hectare (23,100-acre) national park is situated between Echuca and Koondrook adjacent to the banks of the Murray River, approximately 250 kilometres (160 mi) north of Melbourne and was established in June 2010. The park contains the Gunbower Forest Ramsar wetlands site for the protection of migratory bird species.

Malcolm Donald McGillivray was an Australian rules footballer who played with Essendon in the Victorian Football League (VFL). He won a reserves premiership in his only season with Essendon. McGillivray the played for Echuca for three years before returning to his original club, Gunbower, as captain-coach in 1954. He won a premiership in his first season back with Gunbower and played with them until retiring in 1963.
