HM Prison Pentridge was an Australian prison that was established in 1851 in Coburg, Victoria. The first prisoners arrived in 1851. The prison closed on 1 May 1997.
John Cain was an Australian politician, who became the 34th premier of Victoria, and was the first Labor Party leader to win a majority in the Victorian Legislative Assembly. He is the only premier of Victoria to date whose son has also served as premier.

Jenny Mikakos is a former Australian politician for the Labor Party who was a Member of the Legislative Council of Victoria from 1999 to 2020. She served as the Minister for Health, Minister for Ambulance Services and Minister for the Coordination of Health and Human Services COVID-19 as well as Deputy Leader of the Government, but resigned these positions and from parliament on 26 September 2020 in the wake of criticism of her role in hotel quarantine during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Jika Jika Province was an electorate of the Victorian Legislative Council in Victoria, Australia. It existed as a two-member electorate from 1985 to 2006, with members holding alternating eight-year terms. It was a safe seat for the Labor Party throughout its existence. It was abolished from the 2006 state election in the wake of the Bracks Labor government's reform of the Legislative Council.

The City of Preston was a local government area about 11 kilometres (7 mi) north-northeast of Melbourne, the state capital of Victoria, Australia. The city covered an area of 37.05 square kilometres (14.31 sq mi), and existed from 1871 until 1994.
Henry Elisha Beard was an Australian politician. Born in Victoria, he received a primary education before becoming a bricklayer and railway inspector, as well as a union official. In 1904 he was elected to the Victorian Legislative Assembly as the Labor member for Jika Jika, holding the seat until 1907. In 1910 he was elected to the Australian House of Representatives as the member for Batman, again representing the Labor Party.

The 2019 Nigerian Senate election in Bauchi State was held on February 23, 2019, to elect members of the Nigerian Senate to represent Bauchi State. Lawal Yahaya Gumau representing Bauchi South, Jika Dauda Halliru representing Bauchi Central and Adamu Muhammad Bulkachuwa representing Bauchi North all won on the platform of All Progressives Congress.
