Elford Heath is a hamlet [1] and suburb [2] of Eccleshall in the Borough of Stafford in Staffordshire, England. [3] It is located directly to the west of Eccleshall town centre and forms part of the towns built-up area. [4] [5]
The hamlet dates back to the 18th-19th centuries with a planned field system and as a dispersed settlement for the town of Eccleshall. [6] This allowed for the building of both enclosures and partitioning of the farmland in the hamlet and nearby Offleyhay. [7]
The hamlet is predominantly residential and rural in character. It is close to the town of Eccleshall and hamlet of Pershall.
The hamlet is also home to a 17th century-thatched cottage located on Kerry Lane. The cottage was given Grade II listed status by Historic England in April 1980. [8] The entry for the cottage described it as:
Formerly 2 cottages and now converted to one dwelling.
