Ellen Sofie Olsvik (born 7 July 1962) is a Norwegian orienteering competitor, world champion in the relay event, and winner of the first overall Orienteering World Cup. She is also world champion in ski-orienteering.

Career

Olsvik won a gold medal in the relay event at the 1987 World Orienteering Championships, together with Ragnhild Bratberg, Ragnhild Bente Andersen and Brit Volden. [1] She received a silver medal in 1985. [2]

Olsvik won the first overall Orienteering World Cup in 1986, with a total score of 112 points, before Jorunn Teigen (108 points) and Karin Rabe (101 points). [3]

She received a gold medal in relay at the 1986 World Ski Orienteering Championships in Batak, Bulgaria, together with Toril Hallan and Ragnhild Bratberg. [4] She also competed in cross-country skiing, with a silver medal in the 20 km race at the national championships. [5]

She represented the clubs Nydalens SK, Bækkelagets SK, NTHI, Orkanger IF and Byåsen IL. [5]

In orienteering, she won the overall Orienteering World Cup in 1988, and represented Norway several times in the World Orienteering Championships relays, winning medals in 1985, 1987 and 1991. In ski orienteering she won four individual gold medals at the World Ski Orienteering Championships, and once in the relay. She was awarded Egebergs Ærespris in 1988.

Hanne Sandstad is a Norwegian orienteering competitor and World Champion.

Brit Volden is a Norwegian orienteering competitor. Her achievements include two individual silver medals, and one gold and one silver medal in the relay at the World Orienteering Championships. She also won the unofficial World Cup in 1983 and placed second overall in 1984 and 1988.

He has competed in all fifteen World Orienteering Championships since his debut in 2004 until 2018, obtaining his first two medals in Inverness in 2015; in the relay and mixed sprint relay, respectively.
