The English Men's Volleyball League is the major volleyball national competition for men in England, established in 1977. [1] It is organised by Volleyball England .
The teams get 3 points for a 3–0 or 3–1 victory, 2 points for a 3–2 victory, 1 point for a 2–3 defeat, and 0 points for a 0–3 or 1–3 defeat. [2]
In the 2023/2024 Super League Ten teams are participating : " IBB Polonia London (London), Durham Palatinates (Durham), Stockport Volleyball Club (Manchester) , Essex Rebels (Colchester),Mallory Eagles UEL (London), Richmond Docklands (London), Newcastle Staffs (Stoke On Trent),Team Sunderland (Sunderland), Leeds Gorse Volleyball Club (Leeds), and The University Of Nottingham (Nottingham)”. The reigning champions (2022/2023) are Durham Palatinates, second place went to Mallory Eagles Volleyball Club.

Sunderland Albion Football Club was an English association football club based in Sunderland, England, formed in 1888. Sunderland Albion and Sunderland A.F.C. were rivals for the period before Albion disbanded in 1892. The club was reformed in 2020 but has ceased operations as of 2022.

This year The Football League revamped the tie-breaking criteria for teams level on points, replacing the traditional goal average tiebreaker with one based on goal difference to try to encourage more scoring. Team Durham is a student-run organisation responsible for sport at Durham University. Durham University's sports programme, run by Team Durham, has produced more professional sports people than any other UK university and has twice seen Durham named Times and Sunday Times Sports University of the Year. Martin Hugh Michael O'Neill, is a Northern Irish professional football manager and former player who played as a midfielder. After a brief early career in the Irish League, O'Neill moved to England where he spent most of his playing career with Nottingham Forest. He won the First Division title in 1977–78 and the European Cup twice, in 1979 and 1980. He was capped 64 times for the Northern Ireland national football team, also captaining the side at the 1982 World Cup.
Durham Women Football Club is a women's football club based in Durham, Northern England. The team has competed in the FA Women's Championship, the second tier of Women's football in England, since 2014 having been awarded a licence in its inaugural season. They play their home games at Maiden Castle, part of Durham University.
William Hopkins, commonly known as Bill, Pop, or Tot Hopkins, was an English professional footballer who made 183 appearances in the Football League playing as a centre half for Sunderland, Leeds City, South Shields, Hartlepools United and Durham City. After his playing career, he worked as a trainer with several Football League clubs.
