The Denmark Men's Volleyball League is a men's volleyball competition organized by the Dansk Volleyball Forbund (DVF), it was created in 1963. [1] [2]

History

In the 2018/19 season in Elitsidizion 11 teams has participated: "Gentofte, Marienlist (Odense), Vidovre, Middelfart, Aarhus, Ishoi, Westchellann (Corser), Nordenskuv Ungdoms-Og (Orré-Sogne), Ikast KFUM (Ikast), Ishoi, Amager (Copenhagen), Aalborg. The championship title was won for the second time in a row by "Gentofte", who won the final series beating "Vidovre" 3-1 (3:0, 3:0, 1:3, 3:2). The 3rd place went to "Marienlist".

Ikast FC is an association football club based in the town of Ikast, Denmark, that competes in the Jutland Series, the sixth tier of the Danish football league system and the first tier of the regional DBU Jutland. Founded in 2018 as a superstructure of between the amateur departments of Ikast FS and Ikast KFUM, it is affiliated to FC Midtjylland, which is itself a superstructure established in 1999 between the professional departments of Ikast FS and Herning Fremad. The team plays its home matches at Wunderelf Arena where it has been based since its foundation.

The 1991–92 UEFA Cup was the 21st season of Europe's then-tertiary club football tournament organised by UEFA. The final was played over two legs at Stadio Delle Alpi, Turin, Italy, and at Olympisch Stadion, Amsterdam, Netherlands. The competition was won by Dutch club Ajax, who defeated Torino of Italy on away goals after an aggregate result of 2–2 to claim their first UEFA Cup title.

Gentofte Sportspark is a multi-purpose stadium in Gentofte near Copenhagen, Denmark. The stadium holds 15,000 people. It is currently used mostly for football matches and is the home stadium of Hellerup IK. Other sports clubs based in the sports park include the ice hockey team Gentofte Stars and the badminton club Gentofte BK. The stadium has also been used for concerts.

Diego Tur is a former Danish professional footballer, who played most of his career as a central defender for F.C. Copenhagen, between 1992 and 2002. He played 18 games for various Danish youth national teams, and was awarded Danish under-17 Player of the Year in 1987. Diego Tur has a Danish mother and a Spanish father.

DBU Copenhagen is the local governing body for association football and futsal in Copenhagen, Denmark. They are responsible for the governance and development of men's and women's football at all levels in the region. DBU Copenhagen is a member of the union of local football associations, DBU Bredde, under the Danish Football Association (DBU) and the National Olympic Committee and Sports Confederation of Denmark (DIF). The headquarters is located at the Svanemølleanlægget at Østerbro after previously having their residence at the national football stadium. Clubs situated in the municipalities of Copenhagen, Frederiksberg, Gentofte, Tårnby and Dragør can be accepted as members of DBU Copenhagen. Due to historical reasons a number of older clubs from other municipalities are also member of the association. As per 2020, the association consisted of 157 clubs and 45,627 members with the Østerbro-based club BK Skjold being the largest club membership-wise within the association and on a national level.

Henning Boel is a Danish former football player, who played professionally in the United States and Scotland. He most notably won the 1970 Scottish Cup with Aberdeen, and was inducted into the Aberdeen FC "Hall of Fame" as one of the founding members in 2003. Boel also played 15 games for the Danish national team.

Ikast Håndbold is a Danish professional women's handball club based in Ikast. They have competed in Damehåndboldligaen, Denmark's primary handball league, since 1991.

The Danish Women's Handball League is the top professional league for Danish women's handball clubs. It is administered by the Danish Handball Federation, and the winners are recognized as Danish champions. The league is officially called Bambusa Kvindeligaen for sponsorship reasons. It has previously been known as HTH GO Ligaen, Primo Tours Ligaen, Boxer Dameligaen, TOMS Ligaen and GuldBageren Ligaen. The current title holder is Team Esbjerg (2023). The European Handball Federation (EHF) ranks the Danish league 4th in the coefficients of leagues based on performances in European competitions over the past seasons.
