The Qatari Volleyball League (QVL) is a professional volleyball league in Qatar at the top of the Qatari volleyball league system. It was founded in 1979.

The Jassim bin Hamad Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium in Doha, Qatar. It is currently used mostly for football matches and it also has facilities for athletics. The football team Al-Sadd plays there. The stadium, originally built in 1974, was rebuilt in 2004 for the Gulf Cup and currently has a capacity of 12,946 people. The stadium is also used as the home stadium of the Qatar national football team. The stadium was named after the former Minister of Education Jassim bin Hamad bin Abdullah Al-Thani, who had provided the permission for the club’s founding in 1969.

Al Sadd Sports Club is a Qatari sports club based in the Al Sadd district of the city of Doha. It is best known for its association football team, which competes in the top level of Qatari football, the Qatar Stars League. Locally, it is known primarily by the nickname "Al Zaeem", which translates to "The Boss". It is known as the best team in Qatar and is the only Qatari team that has won the AFC Champions League in Asia. Mansour Muftah Faraj Bekhit Al-Abdullah, or simply Mansour Muftah is a former Qatari footballer who played as a forward. He was the top scorer in the Qatar Stars League a record 4 times, as well as being the top scorer for the Qatar national team till this day with 53 goals. Other sources indicate that he only scored 31 goals.

Al Arabi Volleyball is a professional Volleyball team based in Doha, Qatar. It competes in the Qatari Volleyball League. The team automatically qualified for the 2009, 2010, and 2011 edition of the FIVB Volleyball Men's Club World Championship as Qatar were the hosts. In 2012 Al Arabi team qualified for the FIVB Volleyball Men's Club World Championship as the Champion of AVC Club Volleyball Championship They have never advanced past the group stage in their appearances.

Al Rayyan Volleyball is a professional Volleyball team based in Al-Rayyan, Qatar. It competes in the Qatari Volleyball League. They participated in the 2012 edition of the FIVB Volleyball Men's Club World Championship held in Qatar after winning the Heir Apparent Cup. The club hired four top athletes to strengthen the team before the 2012 Club World Championships. These include Rodrigão from Brazil, the Bulgarian brothers Georgi and Valentin Bratoev, and the American David Lee, a Gold medalist in Beijing 2008. They did not advance past the group stage. The best achievement for the Al Rayyan volleyball team was in 2014 when they came in the second place in the World Club championship. The squad included Michael Sánchez, Raphael Vieira de Oliveira, Matey Kaziyski and Robertlandy Simó

Qatar at the 2016 Summer Olympics Sporting event delegation

Qatar competed at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, from 5 to 21 August 2016. This was the nation's ninth consecutive appearance at the Summer Olympics.

Mohammed Bin Hamad Al-Hitmi Hall

Mohammed Bin Hamad Indoor Hall, also known as the Al-Arabi Sports Club Hall, is a multi-purpose Hall in Doha, Qatar. It is currently used mostly for volleyball and basketball matches. The volleyball, basketball, futsal, and handball teams of Al-Arabi SC play there. The stadium has a seating capacity of 2,000 people. The hall served as one of the two venues for the 2013–14 Qatari Volleyball League season.
