In biology, a tribe is a taxonomic rank above genus, but below family and subfamily. It is sometimes subdivided into subtribes. By convention, all taxonomic ranks from genus upwards are capitalized, including both tribe and subtribe.
Apidae is the largest family within the superfamily Apoidea, containing at least 5700 species of bees. The family includes some of the most commonly seen bees, including bumblebees and honey bees, but also includes stingless bees, carpenter bees, orchid bees, cuckoo bees, and a number of other less widely known groups. Many are valuable pollinators in natural habitats and for agricultural crops.
Stanhopeinae is a subtribe of plants in the tribe Cymbidieae.
Nomadinae is a subfamily of bees in the family Apidae. They are known commonly as cuckoo bees.
Polystachyinae is a subtribe within the tribe Vandeae in family Orchidaceae. It consists of 2 genera and about 228 known species. The type genus of this subtribe is Polystachya. The group is pantropical, being native to tropical Africa primarily, but also to tropical America. Members of this group are epiphytic and are distinguished from the other subtribes in the tribe Vandeae by their sympodial growth habit and the presence of four pollinia. Pollination is mostly by small species of bees, however some species exhibit auto-pollination.
Dendrobieae is a tribe in the subfamily Epidendroideae, in the family Orchidaceae. The Dendrobieae are mostly tropical, epiphytic orchids which contain pseudobulbs.
Triepeolus grandis is a species of cuckoo bees in the family Apidae. It is found in the United States and Mexico.
Triepeolus is a genus of cuckoo bees in the family Apidae. There are at least 140 described species in Triepeolus. The majority of species whose life history is known are kleptoparasitic in the nests of bees in the tribe Eucerini, especially the genera Melissodes and Svastra.
Triepeolus rufithorax is a species of cuckoo bee in the family Apidae. It is found in North America.
Triepeolus kathrynae is a species of cuckoo bee in the family Apidae. It is found in the United States and Mexico.
Triepeolus verbesinae is a species of cuckoo bee in the family Apidae. It is found in the United States and Mexico.
Triepeolus loomisorum is a species of cuckoo bee in the family Apidae. It is found in the United States and Mexico.
Triepeolus simplex is a species of cuckoo bee in the family Apidae. It is found in North America.
Triepeolus remigatus is a species of cuckoo bee in the family Apidae. It is found in the United States and Mexico.
Triepeolus pectoralis is a species of cuckoo bee in the family Apidae. It is found in North America.
Triepeolus grindeliae is a species of cuckoo bee in the family Apidae. It is found in North America.
Triepeolus intrepidus is a species of cuckoo bee in the family Apidae. It is found in the United States and Mexico.
Triepeolus mexicanus is a species of cuckoo bee in the family Apidae. It is found in Central America and North America.
Triepeolus distinctus is a species of cuckoo bee in the family Apidae. It is found in North America.
