"Epiphanies" is an episode from the fourth season of the science-fiction television series Babylon 5 .

Babylon 5 is an American space opera television series created by writer and producer J. Michael Straczynski, under the Babylonian Productions label, in association with Straczynski's Synthetic Worlds Ltd. and Warner Bros. Domestic Television. After the successful airing of a test pilot movie on February 22, 1993, Babylon 5: The Gathering, in May 1993 Warner Bros. commissioned the series for production as part of its Prime Time Entertainment Network (PTEN). The first season premiered in the US on January 26, 1994, and the series ultimately ran for the intended five seasons, costing an estimated $90 million for 110 episodes.
With the war between the Vorlons and Shadows over, life aboard Babylon 5 returns to some normalcy. On Earth, President Clark, the Psi-Corps, EarthForce, and other agencies, without the support of the Shadows, set their sights on Babylon 5, which they feel threatens Earth's relation with other alien races. Earth announces its plans to quarantine Babylon 5 from Earth. Bester travels to Babylon 5 to meet with the staff, wanting to provide them information on Earth's plans in exchange for helping him to travel to Z'ha'dum in hopes to find technology to undo what the Shadows had done to Carolyn, who remains in stasis aboard Babylon 5. Sheridan and the others reluctantly agree, and Bester warns them that Earth plans to use Psi-Corps Starfurys masked as Babylon 5 to attack a transport vessel. Ivanova leads a Starfury squad to wipe out the Psi-Corps squad and rescue the vessel, counteracting Clark's propaganda war.
Sheridan, Delenn, and Lyta go with Bester aboard a White Star to Z'ha'dum. When they arrive, they see a fleet of ships leaving a jump gate; Delenn notes there are races that were loyal to the Shadows and may still be trying to continue their work. When they scan the planet, both with the ship's sensors and Lyta's telepathy, and find nothing, Sheridan orders them to leave immediately, just before explosions within the planet destroy it. Sheridan suspects that the Shadows or these agents of theirs wanted to make sure the technology they left behind got into the wrong hands. They return to Babylon 5 and Bester sets to return home, though spends a few minutes at Carolyn's stasis chamber, where he reveals he had set up the attack on the transport as to gain Sheridan's trust, and will be back for her.
Meanwhile, Garibaldi is still struggling with the lack of memories he has after he was taken by Shadows. He receives a transmission from an unknown source, playing out as a visual signal. After reviewing it, Garibaldi informs Sheridan that he is resigning as security chief of the station, and hands his duties down to Zach Allen. On Centauri Prime, Mollari informs his minister that he has been made the Centauri Reagent, acting in power as the Emperor until a new one can be determined, and plans to return to his ambassador duties on Babylon 5. On the station, Mollari has a run-in with G'Kar, who informs Mollari that he no longer exists in his universe before walking off. On Centauri, the minister wakes up from a bad dream to discover a creature latched onto his body.
"I have seen what power does, and I have seen what power costs. The one is never equal to the other."—G'Kar to Franklin
